Houston, TX: First time submitting a question here, so don''t know if my others got through so I will try again. What do you think of Grey's Anatomy so far this season after the amazing Season Finale? I love Sandra Oh's portrayal of being traumatized after the event and love the acting parternership of Sandra and Kevin McKidd. What do you think? Robert Bianco: And now I get to say "yes." I thought Sandra Oh was terrific last week, and that the show is off to a very strong start. It's not going to win over people who don't like it - but I would have to think most of the show's fans should be happy with the way the series has returned to form. transcripts.usatoday.com/Chats/transcript.aspx?c=2407&r=on#currentHouston is our very own Coforever (congrats on getting a q through)

From Kristin's Spoiler Chat Bella in Los Angeles: Grey's scoop, please? Caterina Scorsone (little Dreamy!) just popped by our E! News studio and revealed that there will be some sexual tension between her character and Eric Dane's (McSteamy) when she crosses over from Private Practice to Grey's Anatomy this Thursday: "They'd have to be in a church in order to behave themselves," she told me with a laugh. But Caterina is holding out for one of the hot guys on Private Practice for a real hookup for her character. Maybe Cristian de la Fuente? Would be caliente! How about, for a change, some scoop on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’s Derek? Remember him? – Lainie Remember him, sure. But do we really know him? This Thursday’s episode, in which ‘Private Practice’s Amelia Shepherd drops in on her estranged brother, aims to change that some. Following a welcome that “is not necessarily warm and fuzzy,” Caterina Scorsone (Amelia) says, “We really get to find out what Derek went through, what he witnessed, when our father was killed. That sheds light on how he relates to his family – and how he actually views the relationship between himself and Amelia.” www.fancast.com/blogs/2010/tv-news/big-tease-scoop-on-greys-ncis-parenthood-big-bang-and-more/

Now that the miscarriage secret is out on Grey's Anatomy, Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd can start trying again to make a baby with great hair and strong genes for a future in medicine, right? Maybe not. We just caught up with Ellen Pompeo herself at a launch event for Huggies' Every Little Bottom charity campaign, which is devoted to making diapers available to low-income mothers, and it sounds like Meredith might not find herself in a family way during season seven: Pompeo is herself a happy new mama to Stella Luna Ivery, who just turned a year old, but her character may not be joining her in maternal bliss any time soon. Says Pompeo, "There probably won't be a baby this season, for sure. It's hard to shoot babies and deal with babies on shows, so I don't know that we'll ever actually see a baby, but I think Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Meredith are going to continue to go through their struggles about being a couple and working together and all of that." OK, so the bad news for us fans is that Pompeo believes Meredith won't be knocked up by sweeps; the good news is that the show will continue exploring the fundamentally dramatic challenges of Meredith and Derek in a serious committed relationship. Now, while it seems unfortunate that baby-making isn't going to be a focus of Grey's this season, there are quite a few other storylines to focus on. Pompeo tells us the biggest one is for Mer's soulmate, Cristina (Sandra Oh), saying, "The first half of the season is a great storyline that centers around Sandra Oh's character and her post-traumatic stress disorder, which she's dealing with from the shooting. It's played brilliantly by Sandra. Her acting is impeccable, and the storyline is great for her. I think it's a very entertaining first half of the season." Are you guys OK waiting a while for Baby Shepherd? eonli.ne/aYcrfT

Any scoop about Callie and Arizona on Grey's Anatomy? — Marija ADAM: When the Chief offers $1 million to the department of the hospital that best demonstrates need, Callie's and Arizona's feelings for one another do not put a damper on their competitive spirit. "Callie turns into a very competitive person and actually starts running around trying to intimidate everyone," Sara Ramirez says. "[She] does this hilarious passive-aggressive thing that was fun to play. She's trying to psych everybody out." www.tvguide.com/News/MegaBuzz-Greys-Glee-Miami-1024015.aspx

Question: I have to admit, I’m a little disappointed that it’s Cristina and Owen getting married in the Grey’s premiere and not Callie and Arizona. Will you make me feel better by giving us some Callie-Arizona scoop? —J Ausiello: There’s a major Calzona development in the Oct. 28 episode, but a Grey’s source assures me that it’s not a turn for the worse. So don’t go barraging Shonda Rhimes with angry tweets. In the same episode, a camera crew invades Seattle Grace to film a documentary about the hospital’s recovery in the wake of the shooting rampage. In fact, the entire ep will be shot from the POV of the crew, so if shaky-cam makes you queasy you’d best pop a Dramamine before showtime. Question: So sad to hear that you’re leaving EW! So, to cheer me up, any chance you could give me some Grey’s Anatomy scoop? —Mary Ausiello: The sublime Amanda Foreman, who’s currently recurring on Parenthood, will guest-star in the aforementioned Oct. 28 episode as (I believe) a patient. This is also the episode that marks the return of Mandy Moore and Ryan Devlin. BTW, you’re not getting rid of me that quickly. I’m still here for a few more weeks—plenty of time to get me a really expensive farewell gift. (Registry info is forthcoming.) ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/10/06/ask-ausiello-glee-greys-bones/

It's like the first day of school as Caterina Scorsone hits the set of Grey's Anatomy. She's there to begin filming the big Grey's-Private Practice crossover. Bubbly and bright-eyed, the new girl roams the halls of Seattle Grace with a sense of awe. "No matter what, when you start a new situation like that, especially with these people that you've loved and admired for so long, you're going to be nerve-wracked," Scorsone tells TVGuide.com. Her arrival is the moment Grey's fans have been waiting for since Scorsone joined Private Practice as Derek Shepherd's estranged sister Amelia. In Thursday's episode, Amelia will come back into Derek's life, opening up old wounds and shedding new light on McDreamy's past. Patrick Dempsey says the pair clicked immediately. "Seven years and suddenly she's here," the actor says, while lounging between scenes in a Grey's-branded golf cart just outside the Seattle Grace set. "We look like we could come from the same mother and father." ("Whew," Scorsone says, relieved to hear he thinks so.) Amelia comes to Seattle in hopes of reconciling with Derek, who hasn't spoken to his sister since her downward spiral into drugs following their father's murder. "It hasn't been dealt with for many years," Dempsey says. "Amelia is just a bit of a wild card generally," Scorsone says. "She'll do whatever will give her a bit of a high." Her latest fix: The mile-high club. "You know it's exciting," Scorsone says with a devilish smirk. Amelia meets a stud on the plane and through their, ahem, interaction, deduces that he may have a brain tumor. Since Derek is also a neurosurgeon, the new patient might be the perfect ice-breaker. Having quickly sussed out his sister's mile-high misdeeds, Derek doesn't jump on the offer. But Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) wants to help mend their relationship and attempts to intervene. Pompeo, who between takes playfully reads the crew their horoscopes from a magazine, says, "Meredith sees him resisting and has to get to the bottom of why he's resisting. I look at [the crossover] more as another side of Derek that Meredith is getting to know." While Amelia was reluctant to go to Seattle, Scorsone still believes her character is genuinely sorry for the behavior that pushed her brother away. "She misses Derek a lot," Scorsone says. "She's as sorry as she can be at this point in her life. For anyone to make a real apology to someone, they have to fully understand every aspect of what it was that they did, and why they did it." Will there be resolution for the Shepherds? "I don't think they can have a good relationship, not on this show," Dempsey says, adding that the core group of doctors at Seattle Grace formed a family because of their inability to have good relationships. Scorsone says that to be able to find some common ground, the pair will have to work out their individual problems first. "Both of them experienced a huge trauma together, so they both have to be healthy enough to talk about it with each other," she says. The docs will definitely find some commonality when they share an OR. "Shepherd/Shepherd" was spotted on the OR board — or as Scorsone likes to call it, "Shepherd squared." "[Derek] doesn't trust the Amelia that did all those things way back when," she says. "She definitely wants to impress him and show him that she's not the same little girl that was so disappointing to him." The crossover is not all heavy sibling drama, though. It wouldn't be an episode of Grey's Anatomy without Dr. Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) flirting with a Shepherd sister, right? Scorsone would only say that Sloan has slept with some of the other sisters. "He just has that energy with pretty much every woman." The Grey's Anatomy-Private Practice crossover airs Thursday at 9/8c on ABC. www.tvguide.com/News/Greys-Private-Crossover-1024065.aspx

Kristin's Spoiler Chat: Mimi: Any good Grey's Anatomy scoop? The Oct. 28 ep of Grey's Anatomy, "These Arms of Mine," is the documentary ep we told you about, it's awesome, and it seems to wrap up most of the postshooting storylines we've been following throughout this fall. The talking-head scenes where Mer and Cristina are interviewed are particularly powerful as Cristina finally confronts what happened to her head-on. Oh, and Mandy Moore is back as adorable Mary, and we'll find out how the show plans to handle Jessica Capshaw's maternity leave. This is a must-see ep for all you Callizona fans! And how's this for cuckoo puffs fun? Felicity's Amanda Foreman, who very memorably played psycho babynapper Katie Kent on Private Practice, pops into this episode as as a regular ole guest star with no apparent ties to her P.P. character. You know what this means, right? The shows' universes don't always have to be identical and we can start our campaign to have Jeffrey Dean Morgan hit up P.P. as Kate Walsh's new love interest! Any interesting scoop for my favorite ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘ couple, Callie and Arizona? – Maria And how! I got to check out the October 28 episode, “These Arms of Mine,” which is shot documentary-style as a news crew profiles the Seattle Grace team in the wake of the shooting tragedy. Amid the mania of a double arm transplant and the return of Mandy Moore’s character, the Calzona story delivers a major bombshell. I’m not allowed to say any more on the matter, but you will not want to miss the final moments. www.fancast.com/blogs/2010/tv-news/the-big-tease-scoop-on-bones-greys-vampire-diaries-and-more/

Question: I was kind of surprised that Derek wasn’t angrier at Mer for hiding the fact that she was pregnant and suffered a miscarriage on Grey’s Anatomy. He wasn’t really bothered by it at all. —Tim Ausiello: Shonda Rhimes defends her decision thusly: “I would have really disliked Derek for being angry at Meredith for failing to tell him that she had a miscarriage on the day that he had been shot. I would have thought he was an ass.” Question: How long will Jessica Capshaw be off Grey’s Anatomy for her maternity leave? And how will they explain it? —Joanne Ausiello: Believe it or not, Shonda Rhimes expects Capshaw to be MIA for just two episodes. “We’re basically playing it by ear,” she says. “If she needs more [than two episodes], she’ll let me know. She’s not a new mother; she’s done this before. She feels like she’s in great shape and will be physically ready to come back almost immediately. But if she decides she needs some more time, we’re going to give her some more time.” As far as how she’ll be written out, let’s just say that question will be answered in dramatic fashion at the end of the Oct. 28 episode. Question: Will we ever see Alex happy again on Grey’s Anatomy? —Julia Ausiello: I don’t know about happy, but we will catch a glimpse of his tender side on Oct. 28 when he channels his inner Justin Bieber while treating a pediatric patient. ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/10/13/ask-ausiello-spoilers-ncis-house-glee/

Any news about what's coming up for Alex on Grey's Anatomy? — Emma ADAM: He'll have a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment of flirtation with Lexie in the Oct. 28 episode, but his primary focus will be on a young girl who needs her trachea replaced. And though Alex maintains his stint in pediatrics has nothing to do with him being a softie for the kids, you can judge for yourself when he sings a few bars of a Justin Bieber tune to calm his patient while she's getting an MRI. www.tvguide.com/News/MegaBuzz-Greys-Office-Bones-1024523.aspx
