while it was nice seeing OC both in teaching mode, this episode fell flat for me. alexs comment about will Hunt leave has to be in the back of cristinas mind now. Of course the scene with her waiting for him as he closed the ER was cute i was just annoyed that we didnt get any OC last week and a couple sec this week. even tho the stuff with them on their own was ok, i felt like it was another filler episode. the part with az and the teen was too much like lexie and seviche. and the workshop with bailey, richard and mer was anmoying. please give bailey something else to do. ive seen enough of the interns.

I just watched the episode - it didn't take long. I couldn't make myself watch much of the Bailey/Webber/Meredith classroom scenes. I also quickly decided that the teenager with the hip replacements wasn't working for me either, so I fast forwarded through most of those scenes. That shortened things nicely.
Things I liked: Owen in badass trauma surgeon mode; Cristina in teaching mode. And, of course, our 10 second C/O glimpse at the end. Jackson bad-mouthing Cahill while she was standing there hidden behind the surgery mask was okay too. And we didn't have to watch Alex interact with Jo (unless I fast forwarded through that - - if so, that's fine with me).
Things I didn't like: Pretty much everything else. So Callie and Arizona's big drama now is how to convince a toddler to wear tights? Spare me. Meredith is a board-certified surgeon and it doesn't occur to her that the flutter in her stomach is her baby kicking? And she actually brags about not being fired because she is the pregnant doctor, to Bailey who clearly needs and is worried about her job? Saint Derek "saves" the ER with his awesome negotiating skills while still being completely clueless that the reason it is being closed is that he insisted on pursuing a law suit against the hospital? (As an aside, I also find it annoying that the loss is not covered by insurance because Arizona had a hissy fit and threw Alex off the plane, which she seems totally unaware of AND about which I bet we will never hear a single word spoken!) This ridiculous law suit/hospital going under plot line is making me remember with fondness the good old days of ghost sex!
Does anyone know if Jeffrey Dean Morgan's recent TV series was cancelled? Maybe Shonda can be distracted from the current stupid story line by bringing him back to the show - - Hobo Jo/Izzie 2.0 can sleep with Dead Denny. It would be better than what we are dealing with now IMO.

I think it was Justine who some time ago speculated that Cristina will have interns like her children. Well, this episode truly proved it for me - especially the parallel of Meredith´s baby kicking and Cristina saying she should kick her intern. They are continuing Cristina´s role as teacher which started when she came from Mayo, so I am now truly convinced her stay in Mayo and Dr Thomas was only about how to be a better teacher, not to change as a woman who would consider motherhood at some point in her life which was this week backed up by Ms Rhimes´s interviews richly enough. How I thought Cristina might have some feelings regarding her abortion after some time with Meredith´s pregnancy, even in this episode when Meredith told her about the baby, she didn´t blink one eye, no reaction, silly me, she will never change. I still believe with post - abortion trauma what rich dramatic storyline could have been developed ....
The highlight for me were Owen´s scenes with Dr Cahill, especially him being a great surgeon on his final day in ER. I enjoyed their scenes a lot, with bits of humour in there, although there was some tension in the beginning, it soon became much more relaxed and kind of friendly under these strange circumstances. I value Dr Cahill´s approach so much, she knows how upset Owen is, but she can´t do anything else but close the ER. I think Owen understands it ,too but maybe he hoped something might change her mind. The way she acknowledged having wonderful time was nice, and I also liked how Owen let her to be thanked by the patient´s relative, and put all the success into her hands, it really shows how humble he is and it was rewarding for both in the end.
The final scene of Owen closing the ER, turning off the lights was so melancholic and very moving, it all faded into darkness. It is a paradox that he came in season 5 to boost the image of the hospital in the trauma department, but now he is no longer needed.

There are other options - I'd like to see how a hospital especially one with such a big surgery department would function without ER, really it's impossible - but Shonda doesn't want them because they don't fit the "awesome" SL. Applying the same technique for a surgery without taking into account the traits of every patient is one of the dumbest things I've heard in this show. And in 9 seasons I've heard many.
What they are showing is one good recipe straight to disaster, not to saving the hospital. The absurdity of the SL has reached new levels.
HopeW, you already said very well how I felt about this episode. I couldn't agree more.

I watched the clips on YT for this episode. Happy to spare my time. The fall out of the plane crash and of the lawsuit is boring dragging, please for fans'sake, can they already wrap up this boring dragging stuff, and move on, like now already ?!
A doctor, an attending doctor who does not know or recognise that her baby is starting to kick...Meredith Grey should get back to her intern days...
The Calzona drama...seriously, that's it ? Well then ladies, we are all heroes because who has not dealt with one of our kid regarding a shirt or trousers or a pants drama ? Ridiculous.
The last 2 episodes are utterly boring !

for me the episode was slow and boring. none of the stories is catching my attention in these two last episodes. It used to happen that at least one story was good, but it is not happening for me in these last two. Training? Meredith? Derek and April (please, stop her being so annoying! somebody medicate her now! ) ... boring From a Crowen point of view, the 2 seconds scene was cute, but not enough for me to keep me interested in the next episodes. I loved to see more of Owen as the badass trauma doctor he is, what makes the last scene of him closing the ER very difficult to digest. And I am wondering how much it will take for him to finally break. There is so much a person can take (and especially somebody that have had so many issues dealing with guilt) ... crossing my fingers for a quick resolution so we can go back to at least have good medical cases ...

Loved seeing Owen in the OR, loved seeing Cristina teaching, loved the 2 seconds of them together at the end. Unfortunately, that's about it.

Many ludicrous things this episode, but having cameras inside the rooms, breaking any kind of confidentiality or privacy topped everything else.
I should be happy that sooner or late this plot will be forgotten, but then who knows what will come next.
