Just wanted to say that though I hated that Owen was calling Emma, Kevin's comic delivery was hilarious and I wish the writers would give him more opportunities to show it off.

I've been managing my Grey's watching by reading recaps and then trying to catch Kevin's scenes on line or on demand. I ended up watching the last two episodes pretty much in full so I wouldn't miss any glimpses of Kevin.
My views may be different from others here. But at the moment I'm not feeling the loss of the C/O relationship. I don't like Cristina very much right now. I think separating her from Owen and creating tension with Mer has had the effect of de-humanizing her. She lacks the underlying warmth that used to make Cristina appealing despite the cold exterior. When she told the bartender she was supposed to be "sexy" I thought "Really? Not so much."
On the other hand, I like lighter, less angsty Owen. Kevin is doing a great job with the character. I think Owen is right not to want to do "complicated" right now. I haven't formed an opinion about Emma, and I don't think I need to because I doubt she is there for the long term. There may be some other relationship on the horizon for him. If so, I'll be interested to see it.
To the extent that I am still watching, I am watching only for Kevin and the character of Owen. If the writers want to give Owen a little happiness, including happiness without Cristina, and are able to give Kevin some good stuff to perform while they are doing it, I think that's fine.

Hope, thanks for those insights! I miss all of the smart commenting that we've seen here in years past!
Emma isn't a series regular, so obviously she won't last as a love interest (or at least that's what I keep telling myself). As as love interests go, she ain't Leah either (thank GOD Owen ain't saddled with that nutjob!) So I'm still hoping we get a big infusion of C/O before Sandra leaves. Fingers and toes crossed!
Dr. Wyatt -- I caught the scene you're referring to and agree, his comic timing is lovely! Not to mention that 100-wattage smile! I hope we see more of that in the future for Owen. How often did we get big smiles from him at all last season? Anyone recall one?
