Ray and Kevin were perfectly cast. When they would go toe to toe it sometimes made me laugh because Ray is such a huge guy even compared to Kevin, who is obviously no slouch. There was an intensity in Lucius that was so nicely balanced by Pullo's lighter side. When their roles reversed and suddenly Pullo was the more responsible one Ray and Kevin were able to make that transition seamless and very believable. One of the most powerful friendships ever created for television.
