SNP = Scottish National Party
MP I would guess is Ministers or Parliament
Parly means Parliament
seems that Cameron introduced the new Members of Parliament at the Westminster today...

Sandra is Canadian and grew up in Ottawa, most Canadians are interested in British politics because it affects them eventually b/c the Crown is still a big part of Canadian politics and our court systems.

MP is actually "Member of Parliament" (Member of House of Commons etc). Here's new PM Cameron talking about wanting respect for Scots in English politics. Sounds good as previous PMs haven't given Scotland equal political power as I understand. news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/8680816.stmIt's an interesting issue to ponder if you want to move this discussion over to the Scotland thread.
