Inside Meredith and Derek's bedroom on the Grey's Anatomy set, a very naughty Patrick Dempsey climbs on top of his costar and friend of six-plus years, Ellen Pompeo, and admonishes there is to be "no thrusting." Joking that he's been "doing steroids" over his summer break, the pumped-up star plants one on Pompeo's lips before making an accusation that catches his leading lady off guard: "Did you just have a jelly doughnut?" The lighthearted high jinks are welcome on a set that has been plagued with discontent for far too long. "I'm glad for the other folks who have gone on to do things that make them happy," says costar Sara Ramirez (Callie), referring to the departures of Isaiah Washington, T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl. "But the people who are here now are here because they want to be." And it shows. "We were a family in crisis," says creator Shonda Rhimes. "I had a conversation with the cast [saying] it feels like we went through a war together and we've all come out the other side. Now it feels like we're sitting on the porch watching the kids play." Perhaps no two are more deserving of a playdate than Dempsey and Pompeo. In May's shocking season finale, a crazed gunman shot Derek in the chest, and the trauma led to the miscarriage of the child Meredith had only just learned she was expecting. Season 7 picks up a couple of months later, with Derek healed physically, but not emotionally, and still unaware of Meredith's ordeal. Acting out, he misses Cristina and Owen's candlelight wedding when he's locked in the slammer for reckless driving. This prompts Meredith (in Episode 2) to reveal her miscarriage to Derek, with the plea that he curtail his speeding before he, too, is taken from her. "It's really quite beautiful," says Rhimes. And it seems the loss will inspire them to try again. Earlier on set, Dempsey and Pompeo shot a consultation scene with a fertility doctor, who will inform Meredith that it was more than stress that caused her miscarriage. Turns out Dr. Grey has something called a "hostile uterus" (not to be confused with the "incompetent cervix" Meredith fears she may also have). "Meredith has a really good sense of humor about this," says Rhimes. Not surprisingly, so does Dempsey, who entertained Pompeo in between takes by removing a plastic fetus from its embryonic casing and playing with it like a doll. "Patrick and I are both from New England, so I think we're both particularly salty," says Pompeo, who later suggests crying during a sex scene as an antidote to her costar's ribaldry. "I'm sure some people find it annoying, but it's all in fun." But fun and games take a backseat to the respect they share for the integrity of their characters, and both acknowledge the baby-making story line has caused them some confusion. "I was shocked," says Dempsey. "For the longest time Shonda said, 'Meredith's not having any kids.' I was convinced that wasn't going to be an issue for us to play." Besides, adds Pompeo, "This show is difficult enough to shoot without the added element of a baby." Rhimes offers up this explanation: "There's nothing like almost losing the man you love and finding out you're pregnant and losing the baby on the same day to make you realize what's really important." Dempsey — himself a father of three — is now on board with the story line: "I'm excited to take this next step. If they don't have a child now, I don't think they'll survive as a couple." But even before their next pregnancy test turns positive, Mer and Der have already evolved into the old married couple Rhimes vowed they'd become after fans (and the actors) grumbled over the couple's constant breakups and makeups. Case in point: For her bedroom scene, Pompeo's not in a sexy nightie, but in grey sweatpants and a shapeless Dartmouth jersey. "If I'd worn this myself, I never would have had a baby," kids the real-life mom to 1-year-old daughter Stella Luna. "The look is fundamental to who Meredith is, but it's just not particularly conducive to baby-making." Frumpy attire should be the least of Meredith's concerns this season. Fearing she may pass on the genes of her Alzheimer's-stricken mother, not to mention alcoholic father, she tells Derek he'll wind up one day babysitting "a drooling 80-year-old wife with a drooling 50-year-old child." This drives Derek to team with Cristina (Sandra Oh) to find a cure for the disease. "Sandra and I are working together in a way we haven't seen before," says Dempsey. "We're very intertwined. The shooting tragedy affected Cristina on a very deep level, so she and I have an experience together that no one else shares." New Grey's Anatomy-Private Practice Crossover Secrets Revealed—It's a Shepherd Family Reunion! Crossovers are always a treat, but mix-n-match Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice, and you've got what the world's greatest boss Michael Scott would call a win-win-win! We just chatted up P.P.'s brilliant new neurosurgeon Caterina Scorsone, and she spilled all sorts of fun facts on the latest crossover—including an emotional reunion between estranged siblings Amelia Shepherd and her Grey's big bro McDreamy Derek (Patrick Dempsey)... Blame Addison! No, really—according to Caterina that's exactly how this whole thing comes to be. "Basically Addison kicks her in the keester," the starlet laughs. "Amelia is kicking and screaming and doing everything she can do to avoid the inevitable, but Addison somehow convinces her that she's gotta go to Seattle." So...blame Addison. Or rather, thank her. "[Derek and Amelia] have been at an impasse for years after their father's tragedy," Caterina explains of the feuding family. Yes, the two are taking baby steps to repair the damage during the crossover, but it's not going to be pretty. Adds Caterina: "She has some pretty bad behavior and Derek's got his quirks as well. I'm not going to give Amelia all the blame, but there is definitely some cathartic movement in that relationship." The episode is also a treat for longtime fans of Grey's, providing some long overdue insight into the man who still melts our hearts. "You find out a lot about Derek," Scorsone promises. "That's one of the things that'll be interesting for a lot of people who have been watching the show for years, myself included. You really get to find out about that tragedy that's colored both of our lives ever since. We were young when we witnessed our father's murder, and so fans really get to learn about that." "Amelia is pretty focused on Derek and trying to mend that relationship," she tells us. "And I'm really happy with how it all went." The big crossover event is still a few months away, but be sure to catch Caterina on Thursday's Private Practice premiere at 10 p.m. on ABC, following a brand-new Grey's Anatomy at 9 p.m. Both are must-sees! www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b200746_new_greys_anatomy-private_practice.html

More details from TV Guide article (thanks to SandraOH blog) Grey's boss Shonda Rhimes was interviewed by TV Guide in the latest issue of the magazine [with Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey on the cover] and she talked about Cristina and Owen's new living arrangement, the new special bond between Cristina and Derek, and the potential departure of the original characters. It's all very interesting, but slightly spoilerish, so read below the pics if you want to know: Cristina and Owen: Owen and Cristina tied the knot at Mer's, but they're not moving in with the rest of the Seattle Grace Mercy West crew. They'll be living in a cool converted firehouse.Cristina and McDreamy: Frumpy attire should be the least of Meredith's concerns this season. Feeling she may pass on the genes of her Alzheimer's-stricken mother, not to mention alcoholic father, she tells Derek he'll be wind up one day babysitting "a drooling 80-year old wie with a drooling 50-year-old child". This drives Derek to team with Cristina (Sandra Oh) to find a cure for the disease. "Sandra and I are working together in a way we haven't seen before," says Dempsey. "We're very intertwined. The shooting tragedy affected Cristina on a very deep level, so she and I have an experience together no one else shares." The originals: Given the potential of losing her leading couple [Meredith and Derek], Rhimes has no choice but to create new character to fill voids left by departing favorites. "I'm looking at the show as heading into a future where many of the originals may stay and some of them may not," Rhimes says. "My feeling is, let's spend time telling some amazing stories about Derek, Meredith and Cristina while we have them. I only want our originals staying as long as there are compelling stories to tell for them." Though word is Oh may also bolt when her contract ends, the other remaining originals - Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens Jr all seem content to go the distance. sandraoh.blogspot.com/2010/09/greys-anatomy-cristina-and-derek.htmlLooks like now we now why Kevin/Sandra were filming in Downtown LA in front of a "firehouse"

Any news on a Mark and Lexie reunion on ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘? – Liz Well, the “triangle” between Lexie, Mark and Alex is definitely over when Season 7 arrives this Thursday. But that doesn’t mean Lexie will immediately run into Mark’s arms. After all, Little Grey had her reasons for answering a big N-O to McSteamy’s proposal last May. “Ultimately it becomes a question of when she will be ready for something like that,” Chyler Leigh tells me, “and whether he’ll still be around then.” Plus, Lexie has a complete nervous breakdown to work through first; much more on that in Chyler’s full Q&A, posting later this week. fancast www.fancast.com/blogs/2010/tv-news/the-big-tease-scoop-on-greys-ncis-smallville-house-and-more/

ext + - Hunk hits Grey’s Anatomy Dartmouth native James Tupper plays a therapist on popular TV drama By ANDREA NEMETZ Entertainment Reporter Wed, Sep 22 - 6:05 AM First there was McDreamy, then McSteamy and now, McTreaty? The cast of Grey’s Anatomy loves to give their hunky male stars catchy nicknames and Dartmouth’s James Tupper could soon be added to the list. Fans were shocked by the intense bloodbath on the sixth season finale of the hit TV show. A widower takes revenge on the doctors of Seattle Grace who he believes are responsible for his wife’s death by shooting them and anyone else who happens across his path. To say the staff is traumatized by the deaths and near deaths of colleagues and friends would be an understatement. So when the series returns Thursday on ABC and CTV, they’ll all have to meet with trauma counsellor Andrew Perkins, played by Tupper, before being allowed to return to duty. “They have to be cleared so they’re OK for surgery," Tupper says in a phone interview from Los Angeles where he has just wrapped up a three-episode arc. “I’m compassionate. I understand the doctors are all trying to do anything they can to get back on the operating floor, saying what they believe is the right thing that will get them that clearance." (The McTreaty moniker came about because, as a therapist, he treats people, though viewers will likely find it a treat watching the ruggedly handsome 45-year-old actor who was once named one of Us Weekly’s sexiest men on TV.) “One (character) doesn’t get cleared right away, though does get cleared eventually." When asked about widely reported blogosphere rumours that the character is Meredith Grey (played by Ellen Pompeo), wife of hospital chief Derek Shepherd, who was shot and nearly died on the operating table where her best friend Christina (Sandra Oh) is forced to do the risky surgery with a gun pointed at her head, Tupper deftly sidesteps the question. “She’s troubling. It’s not just the shooting. There are other issues we have to work out." Of course there’s a romantic entanglement for the actor. A hot one, says Tupper, declining to reveal the identity of his love interest. The Prince Andrew High grad, who has an acting degree from Montreal’s Concordia University and a master’s degree from Rutgers University in New York, was initially signed for two Grey’s episodes, which expanded to three. And there’s a possibility there could be more episodes in the future. For now, he’s enjoying life at home with his partner Anne Heche, whom he met on the set of Vancouver-shot TV series Men In Trees, their son, Atlas, 17 months, and Homer, eight, the child of Heche and her ex Coley Laffoon. He’s been entertaining the kids — Atlas weighs 30 pounds and is built like a tank, Tupper reports — in their backyard pool as summer draws to a close. During the interview, Heche calls from the set of David Letterman in New York, causing the down-to-earth Tupper to remark on “the Hollywood moment." The Emmy Award-winning actress is starring on the HBO series Hung and recently completed a feature film comedy called Cedar Rapids, which stars Ed Helms, John C. Reilly and Sigourney Weaver. Tupper enthuses about Heche’s appearance in The Other Guys, an offbeat cop comedy starring Will Ferrell. He says it’s “the silliest movie I’ve every seen, which is a huge compliment." “She plays the boss of the bad guy and when we took Homer to see it, he said, ‘Mom, you’re not even in it much.’ " While the kids keep the couple grounded, so does returning to Canada (they have a house in Vancouver) and they try to spend as much time as possible here. Tupper was last seen in the now-cancelled hospital drama Mercy, a story about friendship between a group of nurses, including one with whom Tupper had a fling. He had high hopes for the NBC drama, which also starred James LeGros, James Van Der Beek and Gossip Girl’s Michelle Trachtenberg, and says the cancellation was crushing. “It was a decision the network made and there’s a lot about the business I don’t understand. I try not to get too involved and just make the best show I can." He was thrilled to get back to the hospital in Grey’s Anatomy and says it was a huge challenge to go on to the set of a well-established hit show. “They’re confident and really understand their characters . . .But they were so loving and went out of their way to say hello." Patrick Dempsey, who plays Derek Shepherd, a.k.a McDreamy, is a huge classic car buff. He was racing in Carmel and invited Tupper along. Eric Dane, who plays Dr. Mark Sloan, a.k.a. McSteamy, told Tupper he loved Men in Trees, which was cancelled after two seasons. And Kevin McKidd, a native of Scotland, who plays Dr. Owen Hunt, Christina’s love interest who was wounded in the shooting rampage finale, and Tupper bonded “in about three minutes."Tupper says Grey’s is full of terrific actors. And because of the success, there’s a lot of security. “You feel like it’s a special environment, but all the actors are used to the attention and are good at handling it." He was impressed with last season’s finale. “They make the shows in eight days and I couldn’t believe it. To me, it plays like a movie. The director of that episode (Rob Corn) was the director of the first episode I was in and even he said he couldn’t believe how well it came out. It could have easily been cheesy, but the shooter came in and it was very real, very specific." He’s not sure if he’ll watch the show when it airs tomorrow night — he finds it hard to watch himself onscreen. But he does have further plans for the show. He’s going to get a script signed by his famous co-stars and give it to a Nova Scotia charity as a fundraiser. thechronicleherald.ca/ArtsLife/9017976.html

New TV Guide article www.tvguide.com/News/Greys-Anatomy-Derek-1023442.aspxGrey's Anatomy: Derek to Bond with Owen? There's a new entanglement on Grey's Anatomy this season, and it's not a romantic one. Following the events of the finale, Owen (Kevin McKidd) — who has gone through, and is still living with, PTSD — will become a soundboard for many of the doctors, but none moreso than Derek (Patrick Dempsey), whose near-death experience will send him into a fit of recklessness. "Everybody deals with [the shooting] in a different way," McKidd says. "Some people go into a shell, some people become very extroverted." In Derek's case, he becomes a speed-demon on the road. "He comes back just not willing to put up with the bullsh--," Dempsey says. "He's much more into enjoying his life now and not compromising that." "Owen quietly has his eye on Derek," McKidd says. "If Owen was asked, he would think it's a good thing that Derek gave up the reigns of being the Chief. I think Owen, as the season goes on, will be a rock for Derek and a sounding board. Derek was the closest to death, so he has more wounds than anyone to get through." In turn, Derek will provide support in the marital department. "Owen comes to Derek for advice," McKidd says. "Even though he's married to Cristina (Sandra Oh) now, he still doesn't quite understand her a lot of the time, so Owen and Derek seem to end up connecting on that subject." One good thing to come out of the traumatic events of the finale is that Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) will respect Owen in a different way. "Cristina has expressed to her that there needs to be a 'me and Owen,'" Pompeo says. "So I think Meredith knows that Cristina really does need that." "You'd expect Meredith to be very much against this pairing, but [the finale] changed her perspective on a lot of things," McKidd adds. "She basically questioned Owen's intentions in Season 6, and in that moment in the O.R. [in the finale], it suddenly made her realize the situation and how Owen really feels." "Meredith very much becomes an advocate for Owen being the right guy for Cristina," he continues. "She realizes they're meant for each other and that's the first time we've seen that." Do you think Owen and Cristina are meant to be?

When ABC’s ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ premieres its seventh season this Thursday at 9/8c, it will be revealed that in the aftermath of the gunman crisis, one of Dr. Lexie Grey’s signature skills came back to haunt her – and push her right to the precipice, perhaps beyond. Is the usually cheery Little Grey headed for a dark turn? And if so, the love of which good man might rescue her from the abyss? Chyler Leigh shared with Fancast a peek at the breakdown perhaps no one saw coming. Where is Lexie at when Season 7 starts, given the aftermath of the finale? It’s about a month or so after the shooting, and James Tupper (’Men In Trees’) plays a psychologist for everyone to go to – mandatory therapy. As he walks everybody through what they’ve been through, we see flashbacks. My character ends up having a complete nervous breakdown. She basically can’t shut her brain off, so she starts researching all this stuff about murders so she can rationalize what’s happened. Everyone calls her “Lexipedia,” and as she begins absorbing all this information she has a complete breakdown. With that happening, everybody stars wondering, “Is she going to be able to handle anything?” It becomes about Lexie having to prove that yes, it happened, but I’m recovering. The biggest person who has a hard time with that is Mark (played by Eric Dane), because he cares about her and wants to make sure she’s OK. So are things now done, over, finito with Alex (Justin Chambers)? [Series creator] Shonda [Rhimes] has said this, so I’m not too worried about spoiling anything, but the triangle is definitely over. For Lexie it becomes a question of who’s actually going to be there when the you-know-what hits the fan. What was your reaction when you first read the scene where wounded Alex calls out for Izzie? Did it take the wind out of your sails, being Lexie’s portrayer? I was so bummed! I was like, “That is so harsh!” But it makes sense. Alex loves Lexie – though he’s not necessarily in love with her – but his heart still belongs to Izzie. That became very apparent when he was on the verge of dying. And that changed a lot of things. What is Lexie’s thinking regarding Mark these days anyway? Isn’t this the guy who once asked her to marry him? He is, but for Lexie it was never a matter of whether or not she loved Mark but, “Hey, I’m young, trying to get an edge in the field I’m in and trying to figure my life out. So yes, I love you, but I don’t know that I’m ready for all that yet.” He’s older so he’s ready for commitment and marriage and kids at some point, and Lexie is not there yet. Ultimately it becomes a question of when she will be ready for something like that – and whether he’ll still be around then. You would think that staring death in the face might make her sober up and decide to just go for it. You’d think so, and you see that manifest in different ways, but I’m not aware of anything like quite yet. But never put anything past Shonda! [Laughs]
Would you say this arc has given you your toughest material to date? Yeah, it has definitely been challenging. I think one of the most challenging moments I had was the finale of last season, which I am enormously proud of. I was looking at the [Season 6 DVD set's] extended cut – there’s like 20 extra minutes, so much happens! – and I was so, so proud of those episodes. And when I got to have some really heavy scenes in these first couple episodes back, it was fun to explore Lexie like that, to see what she looks like when something bad goes down.
I have to be honest, when Lexie first arrived on the scene she was a bit hard to take – so overeager to gain Meredith’s acceptance. Are you happy with how she has evolved? I’m very, very happy with the progress. For Lexie it became a matter of becoming confident and knowing, despite the tragedies she’s been through, that when she stays focused she’s a fantastic doctor. Bailey is always encouraging her with that because she recognizes her gifts. So as far as work goes, she’s better off. Now with Meredith, it’s not like she’s still reaching out to understand if Meredith actually loves her. We’ve gotten past that point.
Is Mer’s miscarriage common knowledge when the season starts? Meredith isn’t one to go about spewing inform about herself willingly, but it does become a factor eventually, yeah.
Have you been working with anyone this season more than in the past? No, it’s been pretty spread out with everybody….
Because when I spoke to Jesse Williams in August, he was more than game to tease Jackson possibly being pointed toward Lexie. He is so wanting that to happen, oh my god! I’m married, geez! [Laughs] No, just kidding. We don’t really know what’s happening, but we always do seem to be in scenes together for some reason. We always joke with the producer, “Are you trying to hint at something at us?” But then nothing happens. In the deleted stuff from the Season 6 DVD, there is a scene where Jackson is hitting on Lexie pretty hardcore, and she rejects the idea and walks away. [Pairing them] would make sense, I think, but who knows? If the show keeps going season after season, you need to keep some things in the reserves.
Well let’s talk about the show’s longevity. Conventional wisdom says that if it lasts longer than Ellen Pompeo is willing to stick around for, Lexie become the Grey in ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ Does that thought keep you up at night? No, I would totally take that on – if that were to be the case. I don’t know where Ellen is [with her thinking], but that would seem like the logical next step. I haven’t had any official conversations about that with Shonda, considering we have plenty of time left, but I would be up for that, absolutely.
And now the big question: What happened to Lexie’s “blonde” ambition? Oh lord…. [Laughs] It was fun, but… I don’t know that I ever actually hit the right blonde color I was looking for, so it was more of a pain in the butt than exciting. But it was nice to change things up.
Was the hair color change Shonda’s call? [At the start of last season] Shonda put out an email saying, “If anybody wants to make any hair changes or change facial hair, let’s talk about it.” I was like, “Hey, why not!” But Shonda said, “If we were do something like that it’d have to be a big story point, and I don’t know if Lexie is ready for that.” So I thought it was dead in the water until midseason. Then it was: Guess what, you’re going to go blonde! [Laughs] When I came home that first day, my 4-year-old said, “Mommy, you have yellow hair!” That’s nice.

Question: Okay, so in order for me to make it ’till Thursday, I need some Grey’s Anatomy scoop—specifically on Mer/Der. —Olivia Ausiello: By the time Meredith tells Derek about her pregnancy and subsequent miscarriage in next week’s episode, she will have kept both secrets for a grand total of three months. Why wait so long? “The man was shot and he’s already feeling [responsible] for getting a bunch of people killed,” explains series creator Shonda Rhimes. “So for her to tell him that the shooting also caused her miscarriage seems a little bit cruel. He doesn’t need one more thing to worry about.” Makes sense to me! Question: I’d love a little Grey’s Anatomy scoopbit. —Christine Ausiello: Yet another Buffy grad is checking into Seattle Grace. Amber Benson (ex-Tara) will guest star in this season’s seventh episode as the estranged daughter of one of Cristina’s patients. ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/09/22/ask-ausiello-spoilers-glee-greys-gossip/

www.etonline.com/tv/101049_Samantha_Harris_Checks_In_With_the_Hot_Men_of_Grey_s_Anatomy/#video embed on that link September 22, 2010 ET's Samantha Harris is surrounded by some of the hottest men on television -- Patrick Dempsey (Derek Shepherd), Eric Dane (Mark Sloan), Jesse Williams (Jackson Avery) and Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) -- when she visits the set of "Grey's Anatomy" for the new season premiere. Following the traumatic events of the May finale -- a crazed gunman shot and killed several of the hospital staff in his quest to take Derek's life in retribution for the death of his wife at the surgeon's hands -- Dr. Perkins (James Tupper), a trauma counselor, is brought in to help in the recovery and to assess each doctor's readiness to return to work. And Derek, who was shot and survived as a result of emergency heart surgery done by Cristina (Sandra Oh), makes a spontaneous decision to resign as Chief and rushes back into surgery. Patrick tells Samantha that his reaction on reading in the script that he was shot was: "I thought I was off the show quite honestly. Look at a couple of years ago what happened here." There is also going to be a surprise wedding on the season premiere when Owen and Cristina get married. Owen, of course, was torn between Cristina and Teddy (Kim Raver) until Cristina's life was in jeopardy. Then as Kevin says, " He made a definite choice by the end…" But that doesn't mean that "Grey's Anatomy" will be without a love triangle. There is still the unresolved, romantic goings-on between Mark, Lexie (Chyler Leigh) and Alex (Justin Chambers). So what does Eric think about Mark's chances of getting the girl? " If [Alex] dies," he tells Samantha. The new season of "Grey's Anatomy" premieres Thursday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. on ABC

A Valley doctor contributes storylines on hit ABC drama 'Grey's Anatomy' PHOENIX - The heart-pounding season finale of Grey's Anatomy left die-hard fans clamoring for the hit ABC Television Network drama's return. The wait is finally over with season seven kicking off Thursday, September 23 on ABC15 at 8 p.m. (Arizona time). Things might be changing for Seattle Grace Hospital according to ABC's description of the highly anticipated premiere: "With You I'm Born Again" -- In the season premiere, the hospital staff is trying to deal with physical and emotional trauma in the wake of the deadly rampage of a vengeful gunman. As Dr. Perkins (James Tupper), a trauma counselor, is brought in to help in the recovery and to assess each doctor's readiness to return to work, Derek makes a spontaneous decision to resign as Chief and rushes back into surgery, taking everything a little too fast, and Cristina buries herself in her wedding planning. The doctors of Seattle Grace deal with life-or-death consequences on a daily basis. And, so does one Valley doctor and fan of Grey's Anatomy. "I could barely breathe during that finale," said Pediatric Surgeon Dr. Kathy Graziano. "I get very stressed out when I watch the show." Dr. Graziano's pulse races while watching episodes of Grey's Anatomy not just because she relates to the emergency room scenarios, but because she helps develop storylines on the Golden Globe award winning drama. "When they have multiple trauma victims coming in, my stomach is tight and I'm saying you need to check on that one and this one is having trouble," giggled Graziano. Graziano, a surgeon at Phoenix Children's Hospital, got the consulting gig after a high school classmate, whose now a writer on the show, called wanting details about life as a pediatric surgeon. "I was already quizzed and told you will get no credit you will get no money you will absolutely be somebody we use when we need some detail," said Dr. Graziano. From flipping their hair to wearing protective gowns during trauma runs scenes played out on Grey's Anatomy are dead on. "The way that the show intermixes the medical drama and the personal drama is really accurate," Dr. Graziano said. She added being an unpaid consultant is stressful and secretive work. "I will absolutely get in trouble and be fired from this job if I tell you any details," Graziano said with a smile while talking about her trip to Hollywood where she pitched ideas to writers. "They ushered me in straight through there [and said] do not look to your left that's all the secrets to the show." Graziano says Grey's Anatomy stars Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey, Patrick Dempsey as Derek Shepherd, Sandra Oh as Cristina Yang, Justin Chambers as Alex Karev, Chandra Wilson as Miranda Bailey, James Pickens, Jr. as Richard Webber, Sara Ramirez as Callie Torres, Eric Dane as Mark Sloan, Chyler Leigh as Lexie Grey, Kevin McKidd as Owen Hunt, Jessica Capshaw as Arizona Robbins and Kim Raver as Teddy Altman do a great job preserving the integrity of ER doctors. Capshaw's role as pediatric surgeon Arizona Robbins happens to be Dr. Graziano's favorite character. "I called them and said 'Arizona is her first name and said this is not based on me?' And they said no, no this is a coincidence," explained Graziano. She went on to say the producers and writers do a wonderful job of listening to medical contributors, like herself, for real-life story ideas. One of the characters made some noises during a laparoscopic surgery so she added some little sound effects to this surgery that she was doing on a camera or on a screen and I do that all the time and we had talked about that at the show," Graziano said proudly. Details Graziano believes is the heart of the show and the pulse of it's success, "This show helps people understand that we couldn't do this job if we didn't care about their children." www.abc15.com/dpp/news/region_phoenix_metro/central_phoenix/a-valley-doctor-contributes-storylines-on-hit-abc-drama-%27grey%27s-anatomy%27

Grey's Anatomy Jill: Will Meredith get pregnant this season? As you can see from this adorable pic, they're sure gonna try! (It'll take them a while to get past the shootout/miscarriage...but they will.) In other Grey's news, I'm hearing that the show recently shot at least one episode documentary-style. Perhaps some kind of crossover love or nod to Grey's new time-slot partner My Generation? Hit up the comments section with your own guesses and thoughts on My Gen... www.eonline.com/photos/gallery.jsp?galleryUUID=2502#90897

How about some scoop on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’s Meredith? – Kazzer This is the week Mer tells Derek that she had a miscarriage. But also on the horizon are some powerhouse scenes on the sisterly front. As the aftermath of the shooting continues to play out and “Meredith begins mothering everybody, Lexie is like, ‘Hey, what about me? I don’t understand where you’ve been for me in this,’” Chyler Leigh previews. That leads to “several really great scenes between the two of us, where we really define what our relationship is.” big tease fancast www.fancast.com/blogs/2010/tv-news/the-big-tease-scoop-on-ncis-fringe-v-good-wife-and-more/

Ask Ausiello: Question: Loving Grey’s at the moment. Would love a bit of Teddy goss. — Sophie Ausiello: You got it: When Jackson tries to flirt his way up the food chain at Seattle Grace, Teddy will have none of it. And I mean NONE. Speaking of which, pick up this week’s EW, head home, draw a warm bath, light some candles, climb into the tub, and turn to page 29. You’ll be glad you did. Question: Any word on who Grey’s is going to pair Jackson with? —Meg Ausiello: No official word, but there are rumblings it’s this person. Question: In a recent interview, Ellen Pompeo mentioned that fans will be treated to some overdue sister scenes on Grey’s Anatomy between Meredith and Lexie. Any news on the nature of this potential sisterly bonding? —Dana Ausiello: Okay, Dana, since it’s two-for-one question day, I’ll tell you that the nature of the scenes isn’t bonding per se. Rather, when Mer starts forming a sibling-ish kinship with former nemesis Sarah Drew, it brings out the green-eyed monster in Lexie. Question: James Tupper as Dr. Chris Sands was fabulous on Mercy. I am so thrilled to see him on Grey’s Anatomy, but I’m disappointed that he is only on two episodes. Anyway, can we get him on for more episodes later in the season? —Jeannie Ausiello: Grey’s boss Shonda Rhimes wants that to happen too. “We’d love to have him back,” she tells me. So what’s the problem? “He’s playing a trauma counselor. There’s not a lot of room for a trauma counselor on a show about surgeons on a weekly basis.” Poop. forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?showtopic=3136255&st=660

From Megabuzz Got any new Grey's Anatomy information? — Bethany ADAM: I hear that the show is looking for a middle-aged male doctor for a two-episode arc later in the season. In possibly related plot news, when a high-ranking Washington official checks into Seattle Grace, his Secret Service detail creates a logistical nightmare for the surgeons on duty. www.tvguide.com/News/MegaBuzz-Bones-Event-CSI-1023760.aspx

Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes has admitted that she does not expect James Tupper to return to the series. Tupper joined the show this season as trauma counsellor Andrew Perkins but only signed up to appear in the first two episodes. Rhimes has now told Entertainment Weekly that she is not sure how Tupper could fit in to future storylines. "We'd love to have him back," she said. "[But] he's playing a trauma counsellor. There's not a lot of room for a trauma counsellor on a show about surgeons on a weekly basis." Grey's Anatomy continues on Sundays at 9/8c on ABC. www.digitalspy.co.uk/ustv/s46/greys-anatomy/news/a279481/greys-exec-unsure-about-tupper-return.html
