Kaz I'm afraid I can't use your questions tonight. Honestly, I only have one paragraph
Good: the approximately 30 seconds we actually saw of Owen. Kevin, I miss you on my screen. Feisty Cristina has returned and she actually has a beating heart.
Bad/boring/lame: All of the Callie/Mark screw me because I'm miserable sex has resulted in the baby she wants and the one he thinks he wants. And Az, who was always a bit too perky but still a multi-faceted character, has turned into a complete mopey whinea**. Teddy marries a guy she doesn't know and is surprised by the reaction of the people around her? Never mind that the marriage might actually have a few strings attached? Shonda, you really don't like Kim Raver, do you? Apparently, Shonda doesn't like or respect her viewers very much either. Just how many anvils upside our heads did we need in one night?
Crap. Oh and I lied, I guess it was two paragraphs.

Well after the intensity of the episodes so far, what can I say, this one was pretty boring for me. Main reason I ended up disinetersted and wandering around the kitchen instead of glued to the set this ep is we had next to nothing of the reason I watch - C/O. Their final scene was hilarious though....I guess that's the one drawback of having their own place now - they don't have Callie to cook for them and are livng on energy/granola bars and dry cereal for dinner, but they're too happy right now to even notice or care.
Bailey was a riot with her giddiness.
We got some more depth to the Teddy/Henry marriage thing but I'm still not buying it. Izzie/Denny as the inappropriate Dr patient relationship was done in a much more believable way.
The competition between the residents is going to be fun to watch as it heats up, or at least I hope so.
This must have a been a filler ep to transition from the heavy shooting trauma back to Chief trying to run a teaching hospital.
Nothing here has me wanting to rewatch

You're kinder and far more patient than I am Cl. I do agree about Bailey and C/O's final scene but this is an hour of my life I can never get back. Bleh.

You're kinder and far more patient than I am Cl. I do agree about Bailey and C/O's final scene but this is an hour of my life I can never get back. Bleh. I feel robbed too First there were WAY too many speeches in this episode. I got so bored I almost changed the channel. Esp. when the teenager was talking it just seemed so convoluted.
This Teddy/Henry s/l is unbelievably lame. Like I am supposed to believe Teddy wouldn't think about having to answer the hard questions having him on her insurance and oh yeah married? I mean the fun part was the Chief yelling at Teddy about it, at least someone sees how idiotic this is. This is not the rational thought pattern of someone who served in the military. Also I don't like how the writers continue having her put down other couples that actually have longevity like MerDer and OC by once again comparing her mistake to them. I also thought they would have finished up the Chief's argument with her, but I guess not. He honestly should have fired her or requested that Henry get treatment at another facility. When she told the chief that MerDer and OC were inappropriate relationships, I think I threw up in my mouth a little. Kind of like last week when she told Owen "You got married blah blah". Whatever. I almost feel sorry for Kim Raver at this point.
I called the Callie pregnancy for ages. I think the writers are again being lazy with this. I did like Mark calling AZ out on all her isms. When he wrote on the intern's head with the permanent marker it was kind of hilarious. The Ah-ha moment when he told AZ she runs away was also good. Mark is good for somethings apparently. I am not a Calzona shipper really but I'm happy Callie's getting the baby she wants. Either way that kid will have some great looks and hilarious parents.
I loved Cristina's moments, it was great seeing her make a come back true to form. The scene where she was giving her intern a pep talk outside reminded me of the "Dead Dads Club" speech she gave George in that same spot. I disagree that she didn't have a heart before, she was just hurt so many times that she became numb and needed to be thawed out by Owen. The cute scene with them at the end was nice, but something I could have waited for on Youtube.
I don't necessarily think April was jealous of Karev and the intern, she was I think more annoyed that he became the popular resident. I guess its just me. I think she was just annoyed more at how the girl was using her looks to get ahead on the first day and Alex was letting her do it.
All in all a boring episode. Too many characters still.

Yep, I feel robbed to some extent too. The things I loved - well, the list is short and probably completely expected considering where I'm posting. I loved hearing Owen say 'gown me' again. He's an assertive yet respectful trauma surgeon and I love him in that mode. Also loved how Cristina displayed her trademark sass but also transitioned to putting some of her hard won emotional tools behind it. She's learning and growing and I love to see it. Before she buried her heart under fear of getting hurt and now she's learned that putting yourself out there has untold rewards. Also truly loved seeing how sweet and simply married Owen and Cristina are at the end of the day. Smooching, talking honestly about the day, clearly enamored of each other, simple physical comfort and closeness. Shows how far they've come AND that they're both staying through it all. I also liked Mark schooling Arizona on Callie. He loves his best friend and they truly do have each others' backs. The rest of it was a bit heavy handed. Why be racing to fill chief resident now when they've not had one since Callie handed it off to Bailey a few seasons ago? I still really hope it ends up a title conferred on Alex, as much as he returned to showing a bit of his womanizing side this episode. IMO, he and Cristina are the residents who have grown the most professionally since the shooting but they have gone out of their way to show Alex really becoming a confident surgeon yet, still, he would be the dark horse candidate. (Plus another love vs. career choice set-up for Cristina would be really boring after all her growth and complexity this season unless the point would be to show her making different choices than she would have as old-school robot Cristina.) Bailey going for it with her dirty pretty nurse? While I'm all for Bailey getting her groove on considering how they left her as the one-dimensional workhorse for a lot of seasons, but her speech to Teddy was sheer foolishness. As a way to create some bonds of friendship between those two women...also pretty tenuous. Arizona's continued whiny demeanor in making a desperate, grandiose attempt to understand where Callie might be coming from. Pretty sad. Callie continuing to stand up for herself was nice to see yet it all lead up to another famous elevator scene for them in which the anvil of Callie's pregnancy was dumped over our heads. Does Callie even want a baby like this? Will it really show us how Arizona is a good man in a storm if she stands by Callie through this pregnancy? Will she go off on Mark the way she did on Alex after learning he slept with Callie once, years ago? Will I care? Not sure yet. (No wonder Lexie pointed out a few episodes back that she and Mark are at different places in their lives, huh?) And Teddy and Henry. As much as I called that he would stick around and form a bond with Teddy, it didn't have to be this heavy-handed. Does making Henry so totally alone in the world make him the perfect foil for Teddy who talks a good game about putting herself out there but doesn't really have the first clue how to do it? Again, not sure I'll care if they keep ladling it on this thick.

Okay, here goes. There were things I liked about this episode and things I didn't. I thought alot of individual scenes worked well but as the sum of its parts, the episode was just a nothingness.
Liked - Cristina having her sass back, Owen's interaction with Callie, Owen being badass in the OR ("gown me"), Owen just looking pretty in the background in general, Cristina having a teaching moment at the end, Owen and Cristina looking happy at home, Callie telling Arizona to get out of her apartment, Mark telling Arizona a thing or two about her own flaws, Teddy's interactions with the Chief about her marriage to Henry, Bailey and Eli (not the end scene where she was talking to Teddy, but the prior stuff when she was looking uncomfortable in front of the Chief), Derek and Meredith's last scene, the lunchroom scene with all the residents and Lexie's "wow, you guys sound really old".
Dislikes - Arizona, the Mark/Callie pregnancy storyline, Bailey being giggly and weird (like I said, I liked the parts where she was uncomfortable but didn't care for her last speech to Teddy), Alex being a manwhore and getting a good review from the med student, Cristina being shown as heartless right until the end, all of the residents basically brushing off their med students and not teaching them (we're back to THIS, again?).
On the fence - the Henry/Teddy marriage storyline. I still think it's dumb. But I really like Henry and I like his interactions with Teddy so I am reserving my judgment.
Finally, I thought the notion of never actually being able to wipe the slate clean and start off completely fresh was a good one but it just wasn't borne out enough in the episode and it could have been handled so much better. Now to 3 weeks off. Let's hope 7.13 is worth waiting for, writing-wise (as far as direction is concerned, I can't wait).

I wonder if majority of the issues have to do with this being a first time writer? It seemed like they were writing Cristina from like 3 years ago.

well, finally got the chance to watch the episode this week: On the whole, did you like or dislike this episode? I will use an expression that I read in another site : "Meh"... - What was your favourite thing about this episode (line/character/scene/storyline etc)? And your least favourite? Really I disliked much more than I liked so I am going to stay high level: Disliked: the storylines were all too dense and the monologues too heavy. It shows it was a first time writer (what I dont understand is why in a show that have a full set of writers nobody can point out that there were way toooo much words in every single monologue). Same sex couple SL: interesting in concept, but I found that the big chance to make a point about domestic partnership vs marriage was downplayed as a difference between "I can have a ceremony or not". There is too much that could be discussed.... missed opportunity. Teenager SL: another case of too dense monologue. Which teenager talks like that? Also , mixed with Mark/Arizona interaction, made it very low interest SL to me. New interns: very uninteresting group of people so far. Hope that if they keep them they improve Teddy/ Henry SL: the basic SL could show a current problem in the US with the healthcare system. But instead, they decided to show it as pathetic as possible. Like: the little (and boy it was little) time that we have with O/C. they are too sweet together. Somebody noticed that Cristina doesn't even move when Owen comes into the room? and what a change that is from episode 1 when she freaked out with any noise.. Owen being a teacher: badass as usual, it was the only of the attendings to be paying attention to everybody in the OR and the only one that took a potential diagnostic and run with it, no matter who made the diagnostic. He respects everybody and we love him for that! Residents lunch: oh how I love the moments when they are together and gossiping and judging everybody around.... typical Grey's And a little moment that made me laugh: when treating the Scottish guy (did they have to pick a guy with same style that Kevin for that - blonde hair , beard) and the partner says "he is Scottish and he really likes being Scottish" , I wonder how many takes it took for Kevin to keep an straight face LOL not like or dislike: Callie/Arizona: I like the SL as it is , but I am finding Arizona incredible annoying. She is not showing any ounce of feeling or emotions when dealing with the situation. Callie is being great so far. Cant wait to see how they handle this together with Mark. - What would you rate the episode out of 10? 4 - Will you watch this episode again? I don't think so.

Managed to get to watch finally Ok so it wasnt great but I didnt hate it either ... there was to little of Owen period on his own or with Cristina but then perhaps he was already prepping for this epi and his time was short who knows (I like to think that it was)
I agree with almost everything that betinad had said in her post the Kid story the Gay couple story and the interns.... but at least we now have interns which fans were asking about a while back ... either way we shall see what happens with them ...
I had High hopes for Teddys hubby but he didnt really do it for me this week
and neither does Baileys nurse... but I guess as they said there relationships are all pretty inappropriate (not sure what message the writer was trying to send to the audience with that one)
I also loved the Scottish mention and wondered how Kevin took that LOL
it was pretty bland in comparison to the previous epi ... but then it might just be building us up for Kevin's epi on the 3rd....

They are not interns, they are 1st year med students and I think they were there for only a day. So we still don't have interns. An intern should be able to read an MRI scan, Fred (Cris' guy) didn't know that.
