Sir Jackie Stewart joins the Alex Salmond camp Published Date: 05 May 2011 SCOTTISH motor racing legend Sir Jackie Stewart has heaped praise on Alex Salmond, who he said was "very good to work with", the latest in a series of celebrities to speak in support of the SNP leader's policies. Sir Jackie's comments came as Trainspotting and Gray's Anatomy star Kevin McKidd wished Mr Salmond's SNP "every success" in the party's re-election campaign. The SNP has had a series of celebrity endorsements from stars including Scottish actors Brian Cox and Alan Cumming, as well as the artist Jack Vettriano. Meanwhile, Sir Jackie said the SNP government had provided "first class" support in his campaign to combat dyslexia. Sir Jackie said that even though he did not vote in elections, Mr Salmond had been of "considerable help" to the racing legend in his work as the president of Dyslexia Scotland. He said: "I decided decades ago not to give my support to any particular party, I don't give them financial support and I don't vote. "I don't mind saying in support of Alex that without his help I could not have done nearly as much and he has been very loyal to me in that respect. news.scotsman.com/politics/Sir-Jackie-Stewart-joins-the.6762711.jp
