Yet another example of an Indie film done on a tiny budget that still manages to be entertaining. I wasn't sure what to expect when watching. This is not a film trying to paint any broad pictures about the nature of the world or the withering of morality. Instead we get two quite likable smucks being taken for a ride by two girls who are too lazy and/or twisted to carve a more acceptable niche in society. I laughed out loud several times and since I generally do not like comedies I count that as a good sign.
Some comments hidden behind the spoiler tag for those who haven't seen the movie.

Oz: I think he has a better handle on what's going with the girls than Elliot does. Right from the start in fact. He is really ruled by banal urges even if he is complete crap in bed as popeye/Katie claims on more than one occassion. He's out for a good time. He seems happy to use Elliot in terms of bed and board but he also genuinely cares about his mate's happiness and well being. He's not the bravest guy in the world. He just wants to get along, enjoy the sex and keep his options open. There are a lot of laughs to be had during his various conversations with Elliot.
Katie/Popeye: Okay easily one of the funniest bits in the film is the conversation in her flat about the origins of her nickname. Ironic that she is the first one to suggest that the boys should be treated with some kind of respect. Then when she thinks Dallas has really fallen for Elliot, she's the one to get back on their scam wagon. In the end she's very much like Oz. The well being of her best friend is paramount.
Jane/Dallas: A major pain in the ass throughout the film. I don't find her redeemable really and she doesn't seem to fit with Elliot. Still, there is something pathetic about her. The first stirrings of a real heart by the end of the film. She didn't know when the switch flipped but suddenly Elliot was important to her and she had no idea how to handle that.
Elliot: You know that he would have never done anything considered immoral if not for Dallas. Certainly not stolen the liquor or the cds. He nearly has a panic attack after the latter action. Dallas winds him up so tightly and then lets him spin. It's quite unfair and you want to slap him for being such a sap. Just can't do it because in the end he will do the right thing and the right thing is to pursue his feeling for Dallas no matter where they might lead. Short of jumping off a cliff at least.
Funniest or just plain enjoyable bits: The blowjob discussion. Elliot's freak out over Dallas selling the tv. The two boys trying to get up the nerve to call the girls in the first place. Elliot pacing the floor and then breaking in on Oz/Katie in bed. Love his comment about the flesh falling off of Oz's nether regions and the affect it has LOL. The scenes in the bar towards the end of the film. When Oz and Elliot play pool and when Oz is trying to get Elliot to grow a brain while they are sitting at the bar.
Gross but you can't help but smirk at least bits: Elliot talking to Dallas while sitting on the toilet. Okay, gross. And I could have done without the plop splash at the end! Also the chick puking by the front door of the house party and then kissing her date full force afterwards. *gags*
Only major quibble. Fun little film that ended too abruptly.
