'Grey's Anatomy': Kevin McKidd in talks to join the show Jul 3, 2008, 05:20 PM | by Lynette Rice Categories: TV Biz Could another hot doc be scrubbing in at Seattle Grace next season? Kevin McKidd, the Scottish actor who headlined last season's time-traveling drama Journeyman, is in serious talks to join the cast. He'd play an M.D. who comes to the hospital after a stint in Iraq. It's expected to be a long story arc for McKidd, who also played the soldier Lucius Vorenus in HBO's regrettably short-lived Rome. hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2008/07/greys-anatomy.html

That´s very cool, it´ll be very good for his career. I believe it´s the most popular show in American TV right now - though I gotta say it´s no exactly my favorite one (kinda of a soap opera version of ER, which was way better in its excellent first seasons). But hey, even I watch Grey´s Anatomy in my idle time when I´m lazy enough to zipp, so watching it with Kevin will definetely be a treat! Not to be a pain, but what happened to the guy who said he´s chosen Journeyman because it was not a "generic cop or medical drama"?

I must say I have never watched Grey's but my mother is an avid fan so I get the low down regularly ...However I will defiantly watch if this comes off...Patti your article has already moved from that link (but I did find it) I don't think its absolutely in the bag as yet....Both Kat and I are doing our best to keep an eye out for a 100% confirmation.... BTW Kat has tried to follow up re Parasomnia and Dylan ( I personally feel Dylan never got off the ground) still no come back yet but will keep u posted I guess Anaterra Hollywood dictates if you don't go with the flow well!...but the nice thing about Grey's is that its stars do a lot of big screen roles in there hiatus periods so KMK should still have movie offers

That could be the breakthrough he needs so much, so let´s keep pour fingers crossed!

Today's News: Our Take Journeyman Joins Grey's... to Cure What Ails Xtina? ABC is not officially confirming the news yet, but reliable sources tell me that Rome-ing Journeyman Kevin McKidd has just signed on the dotted line to join ABC's Grey's Anatomy for its upcoming season. Playing a surgeon who arrives at Seattle Grace fresh from a tour of duty in Iraq, McKidd will first be (barely) glimpsed during the two-hour season premiere. McKidd's character, by some accounts, ultimately will play doctor with Cristina, who has been nursing a broken heart and a seriously bruised ego ever since you-know-who didn't stop talking skedaddled out of Seattle a season ago. Word of McKidd's possible casting first appeared at EW.com.— Matt Mitovich community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-News-Blog/Todays-News/Greys-Anatomy-Casting/800042883

Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers from Shonda Rhimes by Ingrid Diaz on July 30th, 2008 E! Online caught up with Shonda Rhimes, and it sounds like the Executive Producer was in a chatty mood! Thank goodness. She revealed all sorts of information about the upcoming season. Nothing too fascinating - this is Shonda we’re talking about, hater of all things spoilerish – but enough to keep us going for another day or two. According to Rhimes, the focus of season five will be on our favorite ex-interns (George, Izzie, Cristina, Alex, and Meredith). There’s also going to be a lot of time dedicated to Mark, Derek, Callie, and Erica. Hmm. That’s almost everyone! But let’s get specific. What on MerDer? Rhimes reveals that she was tired of talking about the couple until she got them together, but now “it’s a whole new world.” The Grey’s Anatomy creator told E! that there will be a “host of other problems that come with Meredith and Derek being together, and a whole host of other storylines, drama and excitement.” She also stated that it’s more fun to write them as a couple than it was to write them as … well, not a couple. She admits that it was a challenge figuring out how to unite the two, but she’s excited about what’s to come. Spoiler: MerDer will be living together! In the trailer? In Meredith’s house? Shonda won’t say. My guess is the trailer. Those two lovebirds need their privacy. Regarding Rose, you can all breathe easily. Maybe. Sort of. When asked if Rose would be an obstacle in the relationship, Shonda stated that she doesn’t “necessarily think that she’s a troublemaker for their relationship in the beginning.” That’s a bit ominous. Does that mean she becomes a problem later? Ah, Shonda. You’re such an evil woman. And that’s all she had to say about MerDer. What on Callie and Erica? It sounds like a lot of that storyline will be centered on a huge slew of questions for both characters as to what the kiss at the end of season 4 meant. Shonda tells us that we’re going to get to see what happens when Callie’s father finds out. Sounds like Hector Elizondo will be back! Shonda says their journey will be “a really interesting one.” Sounds like the writers are having fun with this particular storyline, which sounds optimistic. But alas, that’s about the scope of information we got on Callica. What on Alex and Izzie? A few interesting things regarding this couple. Shonda reveals that we’re going to “see a lot of really interesting sparks between the two of them.” Whether those sparks are going to lead anywhere, Shonda didn’t say. She did put the tumor rumor (heh, tumor rumor) to rest, stating firmly that there was no truth to it. What on Kevin McKidd? According to Shonda, he’ll be playing Owen Hunt, “a military doctor that comes to the hospital on leave.” And it sounds like cupid’s arrow will be striking Cristina while she’s looking over at the new doc in town. As Shonda put it, “I think Cristina might find him fairly interesting.”credit : greysanatomynews.com www.greysanatomynews.com/2008/07/30/greys-anatomy-spoilers-from-shonda-rhimes/
