funny those sound bites at first didn't work for me..... but I have finally managed to listen to it now....I have them under Tid bits (and managed to script them just in case someone else has a problem) promo also pix of the third episode have been release - no KMK -so it looks like Kevin comes in and then we have to wait for him to return....remember its only 11 episodes he has signed up for ....although its sounding very positive that it will be more spoilertv-greysanatomy.blogspot.com/search/label/Promotional%20Photos

*spoilers*
The "Grey's Anatomy" two-hour season premiere, "Dream a Little Dream of Me," is Thursday, Sept. 25, and there's a lot of ground to cover.
Last we saw them: Meredith was waiting in her candle house for Derek to resolve his business with Rose; Alex was trying to drown his sorrows over Ava/Rebecca in Izzie's arms; the Chief locked lips with his wife, Adele; Callie locked lips with Erica; George's friendly kiss with Lexie meant more to her than it did to him.
"Grey's" has struggled a bit in the last two season, waited down by too much melodrama and not enough of the heart and humor (and sarcasm) that drove the first two seasons. But based on the premiere of Season 5, this could be a return to form of sorts, with an attempt to try to get the important relationships back on track. So here's the scoop on some of the major points of the premiere:
-- First, some of the commercials you've been seeing for the premiere are a bit misleading, actually quite a bit misleading.
-- Christina is back! She's not dealing with the pain of losing Burke (but thank God that relationship is over) but she's getting back to fighting form -- including taking on both Greys in one episode. When Lexie gets a little curious after hearing that Meredith has slept with George, Christina is quick with the "No talking unless it's medical." And later, she voices what we've all thought at one point when she tells Meredith to stop obsessing over Derek. Sure, we want to Christina to grow, but she's not Christina if she's not flinging out too-honest barbs left and right. She also gets to display some great physical comedy later in the episode.
-- A potential love interest for Christina could be in the works with the appearance of an Army doctor, Owen (Kevin McKidd, "Journeyman"). Finally, a Grey's character who isn't all conflicted and emotional, who knows what he wants and goes after it. I'm sure he's got some dark and twisty secrets in his past, but for now, he's refreshingly straight forward.
-- The question isn't do Derek and Meredith belong together, but whether they can stay together. Considering this is the last episode for Lauren Stamile (Nurse Rose), I'll leave that up to you to decide.
-- A nice twist is that this time it's a Grey, Lexie, who is lusting after George while he remains mostly clueless. Knowing George's luck with the ladies -- will there be a female cast member left that he hasn't been with? -- I see a Lexie/George hook-up in the future.
-- The Chief gets his groove back, taking charge both of his personal and professional life when Seattle Grace slips spots in the list of top teaching hospitals.
-- Izzie and Alex seemed to have a reconciliation of sorts in last season's finale as Alex tried to cope with Ava/Rebecca's illness, and understanding he couldn't really take care of her, but that's short-lived. But I have a feeling they might be getting back together this season. And they deserve each other. Both have been A-class jerks in their own right for awhile. Alex more obviously, but Izzie has been mighty judgmental, even considering all she's done, although she continues to be empathetic to her patients.
-- The over-riding medical story of the premiere is about three wives (Bernadette Peters guest stars as one of the women) and three husbands, all friends, who have been in a car accident. It isn't the most compelling storyline, but it sets up the premiere's themes of friendship, forgiveness and whether happily-ever-after is possible.

I can't imagine a surgeon whose spent time in Iraq wouldn't be conflicted about some aspects of his personal life. The millitary-war zones-are certainly a different world vs a place like Seattle Grace. I hope Kevin gets the time and the material to actually explore who Owen is beyond a catalyst for Christina to sort herself out.

good point I'm sure his charter will unravel as time goes by..... however in some of these clips I see a remarkable resemblance to old Lucius ......

I've noticed shades of Lucius as well. I suppose it is inevitable as both characters are soldiers and Kevin will have to draw on some similar emotions to portray Owen.

Romance colors 'Grey's Anatomy' this season
By Bill Keveney, USA TODAY
Grey's Anatomy ended last season on an upbeat note: Doctors Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd got together for good.
That leads to a new question as the ABC medical drama opens Season 5 (Thursday, 9 ET/PT): What happens after happily ever after? For Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey), being a committed couple is hardly the end of the story, creator Shonda Rhimes says.
"They've never had the chance to get past the 'Will they, or won't they?' and be in the 'What happens now?' part of it," she says. "There's a lot of humor and pathos and pain to be played in what it's going to mean for the two of them to really be together."
Dempsey says the two are "always going to have conflict. They're always going to be working on issues."
In addition, "for good" doesn't necessarily go past this season, Rhimes says. "But they're definitely together for good for now. I'm with them. They believe they are together for good. I believe they are together for good."
Other stories include:
•Romantic possibility for Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh). In Thursday's two-hour premiere, which features victims of an ice storm, she's attracted to a military doctor (Kevin McKidd), but he must return to Iraq. "We will see him again," Rhimes says.
•A "lovely story" for Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl). Details are hush-hush, but part of it involves things heating up between Izzie and Alex Karev (Justin Chambers). She won't get a brain tumor as has been rumored.
•"Devirginized" doctors. Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) and Erica Hahn (Brooke Smith) will each explore first-time feelings for another woman. Rhimes consulted GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) to try to make the story authentic. There are humorous possibilities as Callie sorts out a new direction: "What would she be thinking? What would she be doing?" Rhimes says.
•Lexie Grey's (Chyler Leigh) attraction to roommate George O'Malley (T.R. Knight). "It doesn't go where you'd expect," Rhimes says.
And Mary McDonnell (Battlestar Galactica) is in final talks for a multi-episode arc.
Viewership fell 20% last season (15.6 million) but rebounded with a big finale (18.1 million). The writers' strike hurt ratings, although Grey's felt a sharper decline than many other hits.
The strike also shortened the season, which delayed the Seattle Grace residents from finishing their second year. They will face pressure trying to reverse a drop in national hospital ratings.
Still, the mood of the characters is "pretty happy," Rhimes says. "Everybody is starting fresh. There are some good leaping-off points from the end of last season."

credit : www.news-leader.comTonight's Must-see: "Grey's Anatomy," 8 p.m., ABC. At its best, "Grey's Anatomy" does it all. It's funny one moment, tragic the next. It's quick and clever, yet deep. Given two hours, this season opener does all of that. Forget the opening moments, which are a bit of a cheat. After that, we see how Seattle Grace does in the hospital ratings. The result resonates comically and, later, seriously. The Derek-Meredith things drag on, but the George-Lexie ones are a delight. And yes, there's a new doctor. Kevin McKidd arrives in a way that's almost identical to the start of "Trapper John, M.D." Strong and understated, he's the perfect counterpoint for the "Anatomy" angst.

Heh, I can get CTV in my area. I'll have to watch for that promo as it's a bit more informative than the ABC trailer. I'm very curious to see why Owen asks Cristina what her name was after that kiss in the treatment room during the premiere!

I'm very curious to see why Owen asks Cristina what her name was after that kiss in the treatment room during the premiere! LOL the whole "greys related" internet is a buzz with that question (I take my hat off to Shonda she really knows how to play her audience and get the buzz going)

www.tvguide.com/video/player.aspxsource : Tv Guide MEGA MINUTE: GREY's ANATOMY Gossip, TREE HILL Baby Buzz and ... 2:21 Will Kevin McKidd's army major make it his mission to pick up where he and Dr. Yang left off? Not so fast. Sources tell me as McArmy assumes his staff position at SGH his reaction to seeing Cristina, with whom he only weeks ago locked lips, will be surprising to say the least. Hunt will also get off on the wrong foot with Derek and Mark as well. But they're guys, so we don't care about that as much.
