thanks Valerie for this Im going to move the Denny question and answer to this thread (Leanne's question) and Valarie I have no idea as to what happened to Denny so Im lost with the whole Denny returns thing .... (Valerie's Answer) Denny was Dr. Burke's patient, and he waited for a heart transplant. Izzie was in the Dr. Burke's case and she fell in love with Denny. In the 25th episode of the season 2, two guys died in a car accident..Oso Dr. Burke went to get one of the hearts for Denny (at Mercy West, an another hospital, where Dr Erica Hahn worked before). But the heart that was assigned to Denny was screwed up. Burke fought for the other heart (that was assigned to Hahn's patient). But the Hahn's patient was higher on the transplant list, so he would get the heart, except if Denny's condition got worse. Izzie made a selfish decision, moved Denny up on the transplant list. So she cut his LVAD wire since Dr. Burke was on his way, an she manually pump his heart while they ran tests to prove that his condition was worse. ... I can't speak very well english, but I can invite you to watch the double episode. Very intense. And after, you'll can understand all the story.. So if you really want to know what happened after the 2x25.. : 2x26 : #1 : fr.youtube.com/watch?v=Me0guAzFa3M#2 : fr.youtube.com/watch?v=rcm6dG9kz0M#3 : fr.youtube.com/watch?v=ehlI71wHzHY#4 : fr.youtube.com/watch?v=oGkkwxhSyNoThe end of 2x26 +2x27: #5 : fr.youtube.com/watch?v=cJV39yPG8TI#6 : fr.youtube.com/watch?v=V2vUerDoJUc#7 : fr.youtube.com/watch?v=dtzBMvacGkY#8 : fr.youtube.com/watch?v=-6kDirR2FMw#9 : fr.youtube.com/watch?v=McOU-vVnYuQ#10: fr.youtube.com/watch?v=KykjIzRlPHEI know that you don't want to watch all the videos (because there's no Kevin McKidd lol). And the story go on at the beginning of the season 3.. LOL. Denny came back on 3x16 and 3x17 when Meredith drowns herself Seasons 2 & 3 were the best.. I don't understand what the hell happened to the writers.. thanks for this Valarie Ill go watch now....

I have pretty much stuck it out all 4 seasons but I may have blocked some things from my memory (or slept through them).

That's a complex question because there's what happened with Burke and then what happened with Isaiah Washington, the actor who played Burke.
In short, Burke left Cristina at the altar at the end of season 3. They were together for about 3 seasons and went through alot of stuff including Tremorgate (which is probably worthy of its own reply altogether) but basically he got shot, he developed a tremor in his hand as a result but didn't tell anyone at the hospital about it and came back to work and continued surgeries. Cristina basically stepped in as his "hands" and would take over on the heart surgeries when he gave the sign that the tremor was kicking in.
Anyway, they got through all that and Burke proposed but Cristina had to be pushed a bit to get married and have a big reception. She loved Burke but was never fully sold on the big white wedding, preferring something simpler. In the finale, Cristina was in her dress, at the church, about to walk down the aisle when she realised that because she'd scrubbed into a surgery, she'd washed off her wedding vows that she had on her hand. She had a freakout moment and Meredith talked her down. But in the meantime, everyone in the church (including Burke) was left wondering what the delay was. Burke assumed that Cristina just wasn't ready and walked out the door, had a quick conversation with her about how if he really loved "her" he wouldn't be making her do something she didn't want to do etc, and then he left. Cristina went back to the apartment to discover that he'd taken everything and left her, never to return again.
There was more to it than that and it was much more powerful to see it played out on the screen, especially the last scene where Cristina is losing it and Meredith is cutting her out of her wedding dress.
BUT the big story was that Isaiah got let go for making homophobic remarks - firstly onset during a fight with P Dempsey and then later repeating what he'd said (or saying that he'd never said the word in question) at a press conference after an awards ceremony or something. So they wrote Burke out.

Ooh excellent summary karmic I'm sorry I was sick. And I've a problem with the forum so I don't even see you're question! Cristina was an intern when she was with Burke. Their relationship were very very veryyyyy complicated and weird LOL. They were really differents each other..too different. But I loved it! The writers adapted the storyline because they had planned to dismiss Isaiah Washington. Burke is a conventional man. It is a holy man, while Cristina is the opposite of Burke. She is messy, cold, she is not a good housewife. She is competitive thinks only of her career. For 3 seasons, she learnt to be more sweet and comprehensive, she learnt to be better. It was not ready, but she accepted to marry him because that's what he wanted. And she loved him. But that was not enough for Burke. He knew that Cristina was not happy because he tryed to change her in a Perfect Woman. So Isaiah's character left Cristina at the altar. fr.youtube.com/watch?v=dZEls1OXMC4

Great summary of Burke, Karmic and Valerie. Basically, Burke was the initiator of their relationship: he defined it (as bf/gf as opposed to bed buddies); he wanted to publicly announce it; he had her move in with him; then he wanted the marriage thing with a housewife, two kids, a dog and a white picket fence. All along, Cristina was having none of it and had to be dragged kicking and screaming. The Cristina we see now is the result of Burke slowly chipping away at her wall back then, IMHO. If he hadn't done that, she would still be closed off. She wouldn't be trying to reach out to Owen and telling him things she hadn't told Burke or Meredith. That last scene with Cris at the apartment kills me to this day. Sandra rocked that scene.

Yes you said exactly what I thought about Burke. Because it is difficult for me to express me in English thus I cannot express myself as I wish it and sometimes that irritates me lol.

Hi! If you have never seen the last episode of the season 3 when Burke leaves Cristina at the altar and when Cristina cries in Meredith's arms: fr.youtube.com/watch?v=dZEls1OXMC4Now you can better understand her, and you know how it was hard and painful for Cristina to have another relationship and to be involved with another attending.

I have a new question for you guys..... I know what Dizzie is (the denny and Issie issue) but whats Gizzie ......

Gizzie is George & Izzie. They were a couple at the end of the season 3 and at the begining of the season 4, that's why George and Callie divorced. And they broke up because they can't found the same chemistry that they felt when they were best friends.

See, that's one of the reasons some of us are worried about how they'll write for Kevin.

Yes they were but they had problems because George always puts Meredith, Cristina and Izzie before her (You know because they are A FAmily in this hospital..), so Callie was jealous to Izzie because she's him best friend ... And Izzie hates Callie. Callie & George were fighting and she told him about Izzie: 'Izzie have feelings for you, She wants you'! She was right because after, Izzie slept with George... They tryed to keep secret, but George wants to be honest with Callie and to tell her the truth. Callie was hurted, since the divorce, she's completely lost. Since season 4 everybody's lost and now, Izzie sleep with Casper, MerDer are boring, Callie is ..Once or twice-bian... I hope everything will be Okay for the show, that makes me so sad to watch this. And George, ..? OWEN & CRISTINA ARE THE BEST THING EVER ON GREY'S!!!! I'm so excited! I can't wait! (And on February there will be the crossover 'Grey's/Private practice') I miss Kate Walsh. Another question? =)
