I'm not sure what KMK has going for Grey's promotion in 2009, but so far to promote Grey's he's only been on Jimmy Kimmel, I think he deserves more press! We should start a letter campaign to get him on Ellen in 2009. What do you guys think???

Kevin has given me his Publicists details so I have asked for her to let us know what shows Kevin is lined up for so we can advertise them to his fans ..... I haven't received a reply back yet but if I don't by beginning of next year Ill let "the powers that be" know

I've heard Ellen say before that she booked people based on emails from fans asking her to book their favorites. I could gather email addresses for the top talk shows in the US if you guys want. That way we could get things going via emails AND Leanne's "powers that be".

Very cool ideas guys! I was thinking we could do an email thing for Kevin on Ellen, but also snail mail cause chances are they dont get a lot of snail mail and those would get noticed more. Maybe we can generate a KMK postcard to send to her to get him on the show? I just figure Ellen is a better bet because it is L.A. based and easier for Grey's people to get to during filming.
Also I might have some pull with Letterman, my friend is Letterman's head writer and executive producer so I'm going to ask him if they have KMK booked anytime soon. I know he hasn't promoted his previous projects on Letterman yet. Come to think of it my friend runs World Wide Pants which also runs Craig Ferguson's show (who I love!) and who is also Scottish, would probably be a hoot for them to do an interview together. I can't promise anything but I'll email my friend after new year's and get back to you when I find anything out.

Just a question but dont some of these chat shows only do interviews with programs of there own network.....Like if you are on ABC you get Kimmel and if you are on NBC you get Leno.....would this not affect who Kevin could be interviewed by....? If not then haul out the contacts, great idea would love him on Ferguson

No. And there are examples; Sandra Oh, Kate Walsh, Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, Katherine Heigl, Justin Chambers, Sara Ramirez, Eric Dane, TR Knight have already been on Ellen Degeneres. And not only on Ellen, they can be on Letterman, on Oprah, on The view, on Regis & Kelly...Everyone in the cast is free.

I believe it makes a difference if it's late nite or daytime talk shows regarding the network affiliation thing but I'm not sure. Perhaps Leanne and Marrymeowen with their contacts can confirm either way before we waste time. If it's a go, what about a petition via email and snail mail rather than separate mailings? Safety in numbers and all that...

It doesn't matter what network really. I've seen Sandra, Patrick, Katherine, Kate and Ellen all on Letterman. I think the only show they wouldn't go on are the morning programs like the Today show. Those appearances would be reserved for ABC morning programs, other than that they can go on any daytime/nighttime appearances. I personally would love a double interview with Sandra and Kevin somewhere, but as long as they get Kevin I'd be happy I think the best thing would be to write in to Ellen. I sent her an email last night but I am going to start writing in snail mail as well FYI it might also be a good idea to write into Grey's and TPTB at ABC to let them know how much we love Kevin on Grey's. A lot of my friends are on the ABC soap One Life to Live and they say that people don't realize how much fan mail makes a difference, it can make or break your contract and its all about popularity. Maybe we should write in on his behalf there too, just to ensure that he can get a contract at least. Considering the bad press that show is getting Im sure they'd like some good feedback from people. If I can track down the address for ABC/Grey's I'll post it here.

First step is to get all required addresses to contact.....if you find any post them on this thread and Marrymeowen if you can confirm with any of your contact whether its worth trying and get Kevin on to there shows that would be a great start I thinks its a good idea to hit one show at a time to get the numbers and not have us email individually to different networks or shows.... I'm not in favor of formulating a standard email for these things I prefer your individual emails to go out otherwise it looks to structured and aggressive in its approach

Let's get all the contacts we need. Then we can organize our efforts. I'd suggest picking one 'target' per time period. We all send individual letters by a predetermined deadline then move on to the next one. Leanne/Marrymeowen perhaps you can suggest what buzz words etc. to include in our letters that would be most effective. Leanne perhaps you could organize to whom and by when we send our letters etc. Sound good to all?

I think starting with one show at a time is a good idea too. Ellen is a good start because she's in the same area and will be more likely to get Grey's cast members. I notice they seem to do all the east coast shows around the same time which makes sense obviously. Im guessing most won't make the rounds again until February sweeps and finale time. I will email my friend at Letterman to see if they plan to have Kevin in their line up in the next few months, and if not I can make a suggestion, but its hard to say because they typically have guests booked months in advance. Kevin could be booked already for all I know. If you are writing to TPTB and studio heads to praise Kevin's work, (not the tv talk shows) it is all about demographics. So make sure when you write in to the studio, you mention things like your location, age, etc. I know it sounds cheesy but they definately look at that stuff especially when it comes to advertising. Leanne you're right it becomes tiresome if we have a form letter. I think its better for everyone to simply follow a couple guidelines and go from there, but remember it has to be formal and professional. Try to avoid saying things like "Kevin is so hot blah blah blah" and "Owen and Cristina should hop into bed blah blah blah". Talk about his performance, the quality of writing, chemistry with Sandra Oh, that kind of thing if you're writing to TPTB at ABC. Its ok to mention things like story lines I think but it makes more sense if you have a lot of critical substance in what you're writing about. I haven't been able to find a main address for Grey's Anatomy writers/producers, etc. yet. If you know of any other way we might be able to get it let me know. I'll keep looking on the net.

OK here is an address I found for Prospect Studios where Grey's is made:
Grey's Anatomy c/o The Prospect Studios Production Office 4151 Prospect Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90027
I imagine you can write to Shonda Rimes, etc. at this address.

This is what Kevin gave me as an Address for Greys
--(Snip)-- "GREYS ANATOMY PRODUCTION AT PROSPECT STUDIOS IN LOS FELIZ LA NOT SURE OF ZIP CODE"
so I think you should be able to get hold of Shonda from the above address it is basically the same as the one Kevin has given me

Cool I'm guessing we can send letters to multiple people there. I wonder if Kevin or anyone on his team would know of who else we should address letters to aside from Shonda? Probably Betsey Beers as well? It might also be a good idea once we start writing to send a copy of whatever you send to Kevin as well because my friends on soaps tell me that the amount of fan mail an actor receives makes a difference as well. I don't know if it applies to night time shows like Grey's but might be something to think about..

Great info ladies, thanks. Ok, so Leanne whom do we write first and when is the submission deadline? We need to be as organized as possible to effect an onslaught of requests and not just letters here and there. As for sending copies to Kevin, great idea Marrymeowen. Should we send email copies to Leanne to give to Kevin or a 'main' address?
