Oh, thanks Maya. I played it over and over but couldn't get it. Not that I minded playing it over and over.

Hmmm, still doesn't sound like that to me but it works with the scene. I can't imagine how much of a challenge it was for Kevin having to play all of Owen's distress and keep his accent in check while standing in a cold shower. Such a good scene.

At first I thought he said "could've been worse" or "become my worst" or something like that but I am now pretty sure it's "and my worst", if you watch his mouth when he says it. The sound of the shower makes it difficult to discern though.

LOL We are too analytical for our own good LOL I know at first I thought he said "I'm going to lose"

That would have been an interesting line, too. It was tough to catch but I like the way he played it.

I love his American accent, but sometimes i find the annunciation is a bit low and I have to re-watch to catch what he says. I dont think its Kevin's fault though its likely due to how the audio is re-mastered during editing and such.

I chalked up the slurring of that last line to several things,
The water, The pitch of Kevin's voice, which is markedly different with an American accent versus British or his native Scottish. The emotional tone of the scene: ie how Owen might speak given the situation so therefore intentionally low and muffled.
I suppose it should have been obvious but I didn't catch it until you posted it Marrymeowen and then I watched again.

I don't have trouble understanding Kevin (other than that last line in the shower initially but I think the shower just drowned that out for me) but I DO have trouble understanding Patrick Dempsey alot of the time, especially if he's in the OR and has a mask on and I can't see his lips!

Yeah I think it has to do with the sound not the actors. They speak loud enough I think. It is likely an editing issue.

Ordinarily I don't have any trouble with Kevin's voice either, not even when he's using his own accent. This was an exception.

I have to record and watch later because of my evening job. I almost always watch with closed captioning so I don't miss those little details. I think in the shower scene the audio is definitely compromised with the sound of the water. And yes, Patrick Dempsey does mumble his lines at times--captioning to the rescue!
