Rome is definately one of the rare shows that just grabs you. Even people who I think have no desire for a show like Rome are really into it. I think they are intrigued by the historical accuracy as well as the elaborate set up in general. Plus the acting is just amazing all around. I was really sad when they switched Octavians on us I thought the younger actor was much better.

Actually, I know someone who bought both seasons. She watched the first couple of episodes to Season 1 but couldn't get into it. So, she returned them both! Unbelievable isn't it!!

I've been rewatching the episodes with the feature turned on which gives information on historical aspects of the show etc. As someone with italian heritage, I find it really interesting to read up on aspects of Roman culture which have survived into italian culture.

After joining this site, and reading about how awesome this series is, I splurged and bought both seasons on DVD - worth every penny. Have gone through twice already - first time just to watch the story, second to catch the nuances and play the features. I even listened to Kevin's commentary on one of the episodes.
Amazing show. Everything is amazing. They made history refreshing, and showing it through the lives of Vorenus and Pullo was brilliant. The sets were movie-like and epic. Strong acting all around. I even got the hubby hooked.

Definitely stands up to multiple viewings. I hooked my husband and now my neighbors. Found out recently that another friend actually named her daughter Nia after Niobe. Made me smile. Outstanding series.

I really miss this show. Reading through the thread on James Purefoy's new show made me think of Rome and realise how much I wish it had continued.

Yes, I really miss it too! I repeat the same things, but I cannot avoid it. I'm so happy that I'll see Kevin as Vorenus at the cinema, that I always become anxious thinking about that! If only I could see at the cinema even Journeyman... it will be perfect!
