This is something I wrote a couple of years ago. I was reading back over it tonight and thought it might sort of be applicable to Owen so I'm posting it here for you to read.
Psalm for the Broken
words broken at the edge of my heart my mouth sticks to phrases it knows are overworked, dripping with sincerity and uselessness.
these thoughts are wounds and little wars
cradled on the outskirts of life, cocooned in your solace and knowing that tomorrow may never be any better than today.
these thoughts are wounds and little wars
heart stops - beat stop beat - as we catch tears in open mouths on parched tongues into the desert of our weary stomachs knotted in agony.
these thoughts are wounds and little wars
we cannot map our own way home when we are backed into corners; feet fumble hands grapple at kind strangers who will light the way.
these conquered thoughts are dust

Thank you so much for these Kaz. They were so incredibly touching. You're a talented writer/poet.

Thanks guys. I was going to write something new last night. I felt inspired for a little while and then I didn't (it tends to happen after a long day at work). But I'm going away for a few days tomorrow so perhaps with more time on my hands to relax and do nothing, the writing bug will strike again.

Another couple which I think easily fit Owen or Owen/Cristina
W is for War
I am not the wind today whipping at your walls.
I am not the wailing wind. The whispering wind. The whisps of wilderness in your soul. Wiping the insides of your worried mind. Working its way into your heart.
I am well. I am worn. I am wanton.
Wartorn words between tongues and teeth. Wasted winter on your fingertips. Withering, wallowing, watercoloured with- drawn.
I am weighty worry within your world.
A Lesson in Life
Your exhalation is a crease in my skin: there, where it should be, by force of nature.
I wake again and again like clockwork, to your open arms; My empty thoughts combatted by your restless idealism and acceptance of morning renewal.
Your inhalation is an oratorio in my head: climbing, soaring, a pitch perfect arpeggio.
And I dream of such perfection to seal these cracks that expand and contract with the lunar cycle, but never repair.
But you teach me daily, not in so many words, that I set my sights on oases and apparitions.
You whisper to me nightly that there is more to be found between daybreak and sundown, between the expansion and constriction of a blood vessel buried deep in my chest cavity; the macro and the microcosm.
And I would believe you were it not for the fact that all my silent observations have only led me here. To this realisation:
That I was an open wound long before I knew what it meant to bleed.
