Thanks to those of you who posted the extras. I love the extra Owen/Cristina scene in 5.20 because it gives us more insight into how much Cristina is struggling with the break from Owen. I also really wish they'd kept the extra scene with Cristina and Beth's dad in 5.15. You really understand with this scene how different Owen is now and how they don't actually see him (they just see a ghost). Even more heartbreaking is that Owen is listening to it all. I completely agree!!

Cool special effect...I mean Kevin generating that much heat just by wearing that suit!

I too was very impressed with Kevin's ability to conjure emotion in that scene on the helipad with nothing to interact with but a green screen.
I also enjoy the extended episode - both the deleted scenes and the little additions to some of Owen's other scenes - like Callie mentioning blackmailing him whilst he consults with Sloan about his, um, fracture. 'I've seen you naked in a resident's bedroom,' is typical Callie.
It was also interesting to see the slightly different version of the scene in which Owen details his plans for their date. I like how he stands there in front of Cristina for a moment before sitting next to her, like he's taking in her pensive expression and deciding how to best get the lid off Cristina's jar of feelings. I also liked how he emphasized again how he did plan an evening for them.
Just those little touches made it so much more understandable that Owen put himself out there to ask for another chance and that Cristina seemed to surprise even herself by saying yes.

Thanks so much for all these deleted scenes. I was always puzzled in the last episode when Owen enters the "Vent Room" and goes says something like, "oh sorry". I couldn't work it out as the last scene that we had seen them in was the sweet kiss encounter - don't say anything moment. They were happy. Now I can see why he was hesitant entering the room while Cristina was there - because of the bambi moment earlier!

I loved seeing the table read - you really got a feel for what it is like and now we can all visualise our favourite actors reading through an episode. Loved it!!

The table read/behind the scenes from the 100th episode and the special effects feature from the bonus disk were my favorite parts of the extras on this season's DVD set. I always like to see "how they do that".
This year, I think they took out deleted scenes that actually would have enhanced most of the episodes if they were added back in on the DVDs. I haven't watched the extended episode yet, since I'm taking them in order from the beginning. (I LOVE not having to fast-forward through the commercials on my recorded DVDs.)

Sorry to be late back to the party...regarding those extra bits in the extended episode, they are on the DVD set, though I've not seen them online.
I was forwarding through to see the deleted scenes and stopped to watch the other scenes with Owen and Cristina along the way. Once I realized the blackmail line was added to the exam room scene I started watching more closely.
Being a bit of a technophobe, and one with a dial-up connection no less, I'm not at all sure how to upload anything for y'all's amusement. Sorry about that.

Gotta say you all were killing me with these goodies! I finally got my dvd set in the mail today. I loved the extended episode. It was great to see Kevin's comedic timing opposite Sara Ramirez. A fun if confused side of Owen. Callie can't help but be the gossip hound but she has a heart of gold and that shines through. Makes it easy for Owen to sincerely wish her well by the end of the scene. All the little lines and the altered version of the 'yes' scene should have been used. Cut out the excess Denny for pity sakes!
The bloopers made me laugh and I enjoyed the 100th episode featurette. I could have gone without the Denny Duquette love fest. For many the 'Dizzy' story arc was the biggest debacle of the season but there is not even a hint that it might have been a bad idea. Nor was there any serious commentary about what the Owen character and the O/C relationship taught so many viewers about mental illness and compassion. That was disappointing.
Many of the deleted scenes were fine to chop. But it goes to prove how much more of George we could have seen. And how much extra Kevin did that was never used. We don't know what else hit the cutting room floor. Not every transition/cut made by the editor was a good choice. The confrontation in the hallway between O/C is a good example. Owen needed to defend himself, particularly to Cristina. His later hesitation in the vent room is not completely implausible as it's immediately obvious that Cristina went there to be alone. Still, it's less rocky when you consider the cut scene.

Received my box set last week. The extras disk didn't have as much on it as I had hoped.
Overall I'm glad I bought it, was just hoping for a little bit more on the extras.

I was most disappointed that there were NO episode commentaries, since those are one of my favorite features.

Other than the short extra C/O scenes (and the Callie / Owen scenes) I found the extras a bit disappointing too. I've got the Target edition with the extra disc and I haven't yet bothered to watch the bromance feature on the fight between Mark and Derek. Nor have I watched the feature on Denny's resurgence in S.5. One thing that I do like is how much better the picture quality is on the DVD's. We are not part of the HD generation at our house so it's nice to see how beautiful my favorite scenes appear on this set. Can anyone guess which scenes I've hit rewind on repeatedly?

We're not part of the HD scene either here so it was nice to get those pretty dvds. Downloads just aren't up to the same quality and of course you have the horrid logos to contend with. Heh, I'm sure we ALL rewound those scenes over and over and over....
I was disappointed with the lack of commentaries as well. It is a feature I really enjoy on most dvd sets.
