Check out the reviews on Amazon.com to see if this book is for you. Sounds like it contains loads of photos (and not just screen caps), but not a lot of history--but that may be just what we want! I might go check it out at a bookstore before I plunk down my money at Amazon.
Also available is a CD of the Rome soundtrack that sounds interesting to me.

But how much is this? I'm so afraid that it will be VERY VERY expensive.

I have the cd. It's beautiful. I got it from deepdiscount.com. It's amazing how much the music of Rome does to enhance the series. I've seen the book on amazon in the past. I don't remember it being outrageously expensive.
Rose, if you find it at a bookstore please pass along some information about it. Would love to hear more and I don't have easy access to large bookstores in my area.

Rome book is US$19.80, and the CD is US$14.99 at Amazon.com, about par for a soundtrack. Reviews rated the soundtrack quite highly, so I'm pretty sure that one will be coming home with me, since I loved the music on the series.
I'm off to check Barnes and Noble for the book, so I'll let you know soon what I find.
