A BLIND item... might be GA or might not In the mood for a blind item? Good, ’cause it’s a doozie! At the end of next season, a couple on a successful show we’re obsessed with will be getting hitched. I know, I know — it doesn’t sound shocking. TV couples get married all the time. But trust me when I say, um, it is a mind-blower. Why? Unfortunately, I can’t really say. If I did it would be too obvious about whom we are talking. However, I can offer you a few clues… 1. It’s a wedding I was pretty sure we would never see. 2. The bride and groom are heterosexual. (Hence, bride and groom.) 3. The network in question is either ABC, CBS, or Fox. 4. And there’s an important piece of this wedding that remains a mystery — even to me. (OK, that one may not be much of a clue. But it’s true!) Mind you, it’s very early in the planning stages, so anything could happen. The story could be scrapped. On the other hand, all indications are that the nuptials have been approved by the higher-ups at the network. So… for whom do the wedding bells toll? ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/07/16/blind-item-wedding-shocker/

The Scene Set defibrillators to stun: Grey's hires new hunk By: Staff Writer 17/07/2010 1:00 AM | Comments: 0 SEATTLE Grace will go down in history as the most attractively staffed hospital ever, and it's about to get even sexier: Entertainment Weekly reports that James Tupper has just been cast as Grey's Anatomy's latest dreamy doc. The Mercy and Men in Trees star will play Dr. Andrew Perkins, a counsellor brought in to help the Seattle Grace staff cope with the traumatic murders that occurred at the end of Season 6. Tupper will stick around for at least two episodes, but his Grey's stint could be extended if viewers like him. At the very least, we want to see him and Kevin McKidd (Owen) face off in a scruffy-beard competition. The seventh season of Grey's Anatomy premieres Sept. 23 on ABC and CTV. www.winnipegfreepress.com/entertainment/breakingnews/the-scene-set-defibrillators-to-stun-greys-hires-new-hunk-98658134.html

I need some Grey's Anatomy scoop. Got anything on McSteamy? — Janelle ADAM: Sloan will team with Callie to perform a major operation in the Season 7 premiere. The patient is a 19-year-old young man who suffers twitches and facial drooping because of an advanced tumor. It's so advanced, in fact, that his family has already held a living memorial for him before the surgery. www.tvguide.com/News/MegaBuzz-Mentalist-Glee-1020771.aspx

'Grey's Anatomy': Kim Raver promises 'a great new beginning' Kim Raver predicts Seattle Grace will bounce back from the season-capping shooting spree on "Grey's Anatomy," but it may not be easy. The actress has returned to work as Dr. Teddy Altman on the ABC drama series, which launches its seventh year Thursday, Sept. 23. She reports that walking back onto the set after last spring's violent, intense finale -- sparked by a vengeful gunman who roamed the hospital's rooms and corridors -- prompted mixed feelings, but mainly positive ones. "It's a great new beginning," Raver tells Zap2it about resuming the "Grey's" saga. "There are a lot of new places for the characters to go. I think everyone is very excited, because where we left off last season is a great place thematically and dramatically." Raver credits series creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes and her writing team with creating "this atmosphere where anything can happen, because of what the characters have been through, and that will really inject a whole new energy into a series that's going into its seventh year. I think that was just a brilliant move." ..... Read the rest of the article (non-GA stuff) here: blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2010/07/greys-anatomy-kim-raver-promises-a-great-new-beginning.html

Question: Got anything on Grey’s Anatomy—particularly Meredith and Derek? —Wala Ausiello: There’s a new man in Mer’s life, and it’s this guy! Did I go too far with that one?) ausiellofiles.ew.com/2010/07/22/ask-ausiello-spoilers-greys-smallville-castle/

www.etonline.com/news/2010/07/89376/index.htmlVIDEO on site .... The "Grey's Anatomy" season finale left Seattle Grace Hospital in chaos with two dead -- Dr. Reed Adamson (Nora Zehetner) and Dr. Charles Percy (Robert Baker) -- and several wounded, including Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) and Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey). Will the two survive? ET talks to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello to get the latest on the new season of the hit ABC doctor drama. "Everybody is coming back but the two relatively new doctors who were killed off in the finale," Ausiello tells ET. "The main cast will be back. Two actors -- Jesse Williams [Jackson] and Sarah Drew [April] -- who were introduced last season were bumped up to series regulars, so we will be seeing a lot more of them." Ausiello goes on to say that he believes that some of the cliffhangers will be tied up in the first episode of the new season, but not all of them. "Hopefully, we will get that moment between Derek and Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) that fans want," Ausiello says. "I imagine she has to tell Derek she miscarried -- unless they are going to pull off some kind of 'Glee' story where they have a fake belly -- which I don't think 'Grey's' is going to do. They have done some crazy things, but I don't think they will do that. I think the trauma for Meredith is getting over almost seeing her husband die right in front of her." To help the staff of Seattle Grace with their recovery, James Tupper ("Mercy" and "Men in Trees," where he was nicknamed "McTreemy") will be joining the cast for at least three episodes as a trauma counselor. "When I spoke to Shonda Rhimes, the creator, right after the finale, she said the baby story is not over by a long shot," Ausiello continues. "If anything, Meredith, through this experience, realizes she did want the baby. I don't know how quickly it is going to happen -- maybe by the end of the season -- but I think there is going to be a baby in their future." Ausiello also predicts that the Cristina (Sandra Oh), Owen (Kevin McKidd), Teddy (Kim Raver) triangle is over, Teddy having given Owen the okay to go after Cristina when she was trapped in the hospital in the finale. One triangle he predicts will remain in place is Alex, Lexie (Chyler Leigh) and Mark (Eric Dane). "Shonda Rhimes told me that she is looking at the finale as a game-changing moment to reset the entire staff of Seattle Grace. For her it is like a new beginning," Ausiello says. "Grey's Anatomy" premieres its new season on Thursday, September 23 at 9 p.m. on ABC.

www.fancast.com/blogs/2010/tv-news/jessica-capshaw-previews-greys-return-the-game-has-changed/extract from the article (which is part I of the interview) Does the new season pick up soon after those events, or have months and months passed? It’s pretty soon after those events, and we’re dealing with what has just happened, putting the pieces back together again. Shonda so famously said it was a “game changer,” and it’s hard to live up to that, but it really was a game changer. Now you’ll see how the game has changed for all the different personalities. There were a lot of “Come to Jesus” moments that each character had in some way, and now we’ll look at what those declarations made in the moment will mean for the future – whether people live up to them, or don’t.

The Shepherd siblings will be repairing their relationship in the upcoming season of Grey's Anatomy. Caterina Scorsone, who's been upped to series regular on Private Practice, will appear on the third episode of Grey's Season 7, executive producer Shonda Rhimes tells TVGuide.com. Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice's next crossover? A Shepherd reunion Though Rhimes declined to offer storyline details, sources tell TVGuide.com that Scorsone's Dr. Amelia Shepherd goes to Seattle to reconcile with brother Derek (Patrick Dempsey). The two have not been on speaking terms since Amelia turned to drugs while grieving the death of her father, who was shot and killed in front of her and Derek. www.tvguide.com/News/Private-Practices-Caterina-1021070.aspx

Normally, people who finish med school and save other peoples' lives for a living are considered adults — that is, unless they're Doogie Houser. Or on Grey's Anatomy. After six seasons, the show's creator, Shonda Rhimes, says her characters are finally becoming adults — and that their problems will only get more grown-up. TVGuide.com: What can you tell us about the upcoming season of Grey's Anatomy?Rhimes: With both Grey's and Private Practice, we've got two really exciting seasons coming up. It's been really fun to sit down and plan them. Our characters are growing up on Grey's. They're really adults now and that's been a real challenge, in how to let them be grownups and figure out what that means for them. TVGuide.com: Meredith's miscarriage in the finale was heartbreaking. Now that she knows she wants to have a baby, will that be a focus for her this season?Rhimes: It's possible. The theme for the entire season of Grey's this year is rebirth, so extrapolate from there. TVGuide.com: James Tupper is coming in as a trauma counselor for the first three episodes. Are there any characters in particular taking it harder than others?Rhimes: I think they're all taking it pretty hard in their own individual ways. We talked about it a lot, and the fact that there's this group of people that's been extraordinarily damaged by this experience. That's what's going to be carrying them forward, and it will change how they view their jobs, view themselves and view their relationships with one another. A lot of them were about to die. I think they're all fairly damaged and trying to recover. James Tupper to guest-star on Grey's Anatomy TVGuide.com: Do you look at Lexie (Chyler Leigh) as the next Grey of Grey's Anatomy?Rhimes: I have to be honest, I'm not really thinking of it that way. I don't think that's a conscious thought on my part, that we're trying to feed a new Grey of Grey's Anatomy. We have Meredith Grey, she is here and won't be going anywhere for the next two seasons. I haven't really been thinking about filling the shoes of somebody who's sitting right in front of me. TVGuide.com: The Lexie, Mark (Eric Dane) and Alex (Justin Chambers) love triangle definitely got complicated. What's ahead for them?Rhimes: A lot of people like to see a lot of people with Mark. I get a lot of mail about why Callie [Sara Ramirez] isn't with Mark, why Addison [Kate Walsh] isn't with Mark. Mark is a very juicy, interesting character and we're going to try to explore what happens next for both of those characters in a really interesting and, hopefully, a very non-predictable way. TVGuide.com: After making sacrifices for each other in the finale, will we see a happy Callie and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) in the new season?Rhimes: Callie and Arizona are going to be together; I don't know if happy is the right word. We're going to see them struggle with their relationship, where it's going and what that means for them. The reality of the situation is that they are two people who are trying to settle down together and figure out what that means. That's going to be really interesting to watch unfold. Grey's Anatomy's Kim Raver Calls Time of Death on Cristina-Owen-Teddy TriangleIn the season finale of Grey's Anatomy, Teddy (Kim Raver) finally conceded that Cristina and Owen share a strong bond. No, really, she did. While some fans have worried that Teddy will continue meddling in their relationship, Raver tells TVGuide.com it ended in the Season 6 finale. "Outside of the hospital, before he goes back in, I say, 'You have to choose.' That for me was the sad, sad ending," Raver says. "I think it's going to be refreshing. I do love the Cristina and Owen relationship. The Teddy part of me is extremly sad, but I think it's an interesting place for her to go; to leave that triangle behind and see how she deals with relationships." Teddy will be moving on quickly, Raver adds, with someone "very handsome and smart." Are you glad the triangle has disbanded? www.tvguide.com/News/Greys-Anatomy-Raver-1021272.aspx

The big question coming out of last season’s ‘Grey’s Anatomy’s finale: Which of Seattle Grace’s finest was left most shell-shocked by crazed gunman Gary Clark’s storming of the hallways, during which he left several staffers dead and intensely traumatized others? Obviously, Meredith (played by Ellen Pompeo) has big-time healing to do, having witnessed her husband getting shot and then, in the pulse-pounding aftermath, miscarried her and Derek’s unborn baby. But when the show returns on September 23, viewers will see that Derek’s near-death thoroughly rattled others as well. “Some of the people who went through some of the worst traumas handle it differently,” newly promoted series regular Jesse Williams (aka Dr. Jackson Avery) tells Fancast. “But Cristina (Sandra Oh) takes it especially hard, because she had a gun up against her head as she had to save the life of her very, very, very best friend’s husband – and the chief of their whole department.” Bailey is another survivor we have to wonder about, given that she at one juncture had to hide mere inches away from the shooter, and then spent much of the season-ender trying – unsuccessfully – to keep Mercy Wester Charles from succumbing to his own gunshot wound. “We saw what Bailey went through, but shes a rock and she only lets us in so much,” says Williams. Reflecting for a moment on Chandra Wilson’s performance in those scenes, he adds, “She’s such a tremendous actress.” To help any and all who were impacted by the hospital crisis, a new face is on the scene in the form of a grief counselor played by James Tupper (’Men In Trees’). “He really is our judge and jury,” says Williams. “He can clear us for surgery, or keep us languishing in purgatory.” And as for the fact that this new healer just so happens to look like James Tupper and not, say, some 62-year-old bald man, well…. “He will make his mark, to say the least,” Williams teases. “He’s definitely not just a grief counselor.” Hear that, ladies? Grey's Anatomy: Will Arizona & Callie's Lovefest Survive the Finale Fallout? Jessica Capshaw Spills Calizona fans rejoice! Um, on second thought, cautiously meandering into Grey's Anatomy's seventh season might be a safer bet since it sounds like that bloodbathy finale is still rearing its ugly head when the ABC hit returns. Luckily, we just caught up with an adorably pregnant Jessica Capshaw (Arizona), and here's what she tells us lies ahead for the docs of Seattle Grace—and when (or if!) those 14 Calizona babies might start poppin' out... "I was wondering how we were gonna get back to it after that big season finale, but we just jump right back in," an enthusiastic Jessica exclaims. (Seriously, this gal could sell us on...anything!) Following the teensy time-jump rule, Grey's returns with lots left to be resolved. Explains Jessica: "There's been a little bit of space in time. People have been able to go away, come back and deal with it, and then the issues that are going to be the issues are there." "And now what it will be about for Arizona," she tells us, "is the moments when you make those promises; how do you make good on them? Do you still make good on them? What do you think? How do you think it? And then what do you do?" Like, we dunno, following up on those 14 babies Arizona promised her ladylove Callie in the face of impending doom?! "Arizona [really] got away scott-free in that she and Callie weren't shot," laughs Jessica, "but clearly there was still that life or death moment that made Arizona have her big epiphany and, 'I can't live without you. And I'll have 14 kids'—which I don't believe she will." We're sorry, come again?! So there will be no cute li'l kiddies running around Seattle Grace any time soon? (McSteamy's new grandbaby excluded!) Jess is muy tightlipped about her upcoming arc on Grey's, but does predict this: "I'm thinking that there will not be babies! But," teases the baby bumpin' starlet, "maybe that's also just selfish because babies are really hard to work with. I feel like I'd have my hands full. I don't think I need more babies in my life—I'll have more that enough." Hey, we love Callie, we love Arizona and we love Calizona! So if a baby (or 14!) is what it takes to keep these two together, we might just start begging Jess—and Shonda Rimes—to suck it up and make it happen. That's fair, right? www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b193255_greys_anatomy_will_arizona_callies.html

We had a chance to speak with "Grey's Anatomy's" newest regular, Jesse Williams (who plays Jackson), at ABC's Press Tour day and he gave us some hints as to what to expect from his character next season. Williams says he had an inkling of expectation that he would be promoted to a regular, but that it unfolded over time. "It was wonderful. It was kind of time-release period of information," he says. "I knew I got picked up for the option and I knew it was a possibility, a narrow possibility. And then I got the news overseas on a break during the hiatus. So, it was great. It was a nice little treat during vacation, to bring it all back together." When asked what we can expect of his character going forward, Williams says he hasn't heard whether his character will get into some kind of romantic storyline, but he's sure something is coming up. Though, we've heard something is building between his character and Christina Yang (played by Sandra Oh). It also seems like the bloody finale has set him and the other surviving Mercy West transfer, April, back in their quest to become part of the team, though new digs might help. "We lost two of our roommates and good friends in the finale," he says. "We were already kind of the new guys in the hospital, so Sarah Drew's character and mine, Jackson and April, are again fish out of water. We just started to get acclimated and then here we are again thrown upside down." blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2010/08/greys-anatomy-new-regular-jesse-williams-says-his-character-is-again-thrown-upside-down.htmlVideo of the interview with Jesse and Kim Raver also available at above link.

The Season 6 season finale of "Grey's Anatomy" was a nail-biter to put it lightly. An angry man with a gun is in the hospital and he's making his way to Derek (Patrick Dempsey), leaving a trail of bodies in his wake. If it was frightening to us, imagine what it was like for the actors who were just discovering whether their characters would survive the massacre or not. "That was a tenuous table read," Jesse Williams (who plays Jackson) tells us while Kim Raver (who plays Teddy) laughs. A "24" veteran, Raver says she's kind of used to the possibility of dying on a show, since on the FOX show, "There's always that target on your back." Warning: Spoiler alert! According to the actors, the crew will begin undergoing therapy to deal with the bloody incident and its losses. Some will deal with that therapy differently from others, hints Raver. And while she's dropping hints, Raver also suggests she may be interested in a romantic storyline with the man administering the therapy: The show's handsome guest star "Mercy's" James Tupper. It doesn't hurt to put it out there! Maybe "Grey's" creator, Shonda Rhimes, is listening? blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2010/08/greys-anatomy-jesse-williams-and-kim-raver-on-the-bloody-finales-aftermath.html

Hooray! That's all that can be said on behalf of you fans who were not-so-secretly hoping for the death of a certain love triangle (one that 30% of TV fans are "so totally over") on Grey's Anatomy. ... Justin in Rockford, Ill.: I am so over that whole Teddy-Owen-Christina triangle on Grey's Anatomy. Is it over? Please tell me that it's over! I can't tell you, but Kim Raver can. And she can report that, yes, "for now, the triangle with Owen and Christina is done." Hollller! Let's chest bump on that one, shall we? Plus, she tells us that we'll get to see Teddy try her hand at romance—with someone new, who is presumably named neither Kevin nor McKidd. "We have some people coming in, very talented, very good looking," she says with a sly smile. "So, Teddy gets to dive into that world, which will be a lot of fun to watch." And watch we will. Carrisa in St. George, UT.: Did Jessica Capshaw tell you anything else about the new season of Grey's Anatomy? Thanks for the great scoop from her! That she did! "The main thing you're going to see [when Grey's returns] is who delivers and who doesn't deliver on promises made during the season finale," she tells us. "It's definitely a come-to-Jesus moment for everybody. 'Sh*t or get off the pot.' And the season builds from there. Shonda [Rimes] and the writers found a really beautiful, delicate middle ground from which to spring to the next season. It's going to be really great!" au.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b193415_spoiler_chat_greys_anatomy_news_will.html

‘Grey’s Anatomy’s Arizona and Callie: Baby… Or Baby Not? by Matt Webb Mitovich Aug 3rd, 2010 In Part 1 of Fancast’s in-depth interview with ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘ cast member Jessica Capshaw, the super-sunny actress previewed the aftermath of the riveting season finale, during which Arizona had an about-face and signed on to have “10 babies” with girlfriend Callie. But might the good doc backtrack on hitting the mommy track? Here in Part 2 of the Q&A, we drill down deeper on the topic with Capshaw. When Season 2 kicks off (on September 23), are Arizona and Callie (played by Sara Ramirez) at a point where they’re talking about the who and the how of starting a family? Not to start. We actually pick up with them at less of a fever pitch. The other characters got the lion’s share of the drama, so they’re all easing back into the nuts and bolts of what’s going to happen next. Listen, I’ve always said that [Arizona and Callie] are the most calm and rational relationship on the show! So just to be clear, Arizona will not be backtracking on her reversal? She’s still on board for baby? You never know, it’s ‘Grey’s Anatomy’! You never, never know. I can’t imagine it’s going to happen easily, but… maybe it will? Nothing ever happens quickly, or easily. And I do think the convention of having a life-and-death crisis for the doctors was about asking, “Who are you? When a gun’s to your head, who ARE you?” Not a lot of us would like to have a life-and-death moment, but when you do, do you see what’s important and jump for what you want? Do you cling to what’s closest? There are so many ways to go. I never thought it was that easy that this happened and she said, “OK, we’ll have 25 kids!” You can’t change who you are. The challenge will still be there, so now we’ll see if they can overcome it. Did ['Grey's' creator] Shonda Rhimes even for a second consider writing in your real-life pregnancy? [Capshaw is due with her second child in the fall.] It didn’t occur to me that I’m the third person to be pregnant on the show [following Chyler Leigh and Ellen Pompeo], so she didn’t bat an eyelash. I know that it changes, and that they come up with ideas and then do this and do that, but I don’t think that was ever in her game plan. And I hear that productionwise, it’s so much easier to fake a pregnancy than accommodate a real one. Besides, Arizona is probably the less likely of the two to carry any baby. Yes, but then there are people like, “But you have to have the baby!” Do you have your own maternity leave plan mapped out? I’m due in the fall, and what I love about working where I work and Shonda and her whole team is that we’re all team players. How do you make God laugh? Make a plan. So I think we’ll do the best to accommodate. Knock wood, my last pregnancy felt great up until the very end, so I hope to work until the end, take some time with my new baby, and then get back to work. Does your almost-3-year-old son have a point of view on the new arrival? He is very excited. Very excited. He says “Good morning” to my belly every morning and tells her that he loves her…. It’s very exciting. Where does Arizona rank among all the roles you’ve played? Toward the top? Oh, definitely. A lot of actors say this, but I’m the luckiest girl in the world to have this character that doesn’t get written often. It’s such a nice fit, and I have such pleasure creating her. I’d put her at the top. I love going to work every day, I do. www.fancast.com/blogs/2010/tv-news/for-greys-anatomys-arizona-and-callie-baby...-or-baby-not/
