Scots actor Kevin McKidd set for chart success after cover of Snow Patrol hit on US TV show Grey's Anatomy Apr 1 2011 Brian Mciver (UK) TELLY star Kevin McKidd could be heading for No1 in the charts after wowing millions of Grey's Anatomy fans in a special musical edition. The Trainspotting and Rome actor has become an iTunes sensation in the US after covering the Snow Patrol hit Chasing Cars. He sings it with co-stars Sara Ramirez and Chandra Wilson in the episode screened last night on US television. Due to be shown here next month, it sees the stars of the hospital drama singing Gleestyle during a traumatic night. A soundtrack of the episode made the US charts on pre-orders before the broadcast. Now Elgin-born Kevin, 37, is filming a music video for the series' DVD box set. He said: "The DVD people are shooting two videos. One is my character singing the Gomez song How to Operate.
"I think we should have dry ice and a wind machine, and a kilt flowing in the breeze."
Kevin has played Dr Owen Hunt in Grey's Anatomy for three years, after making his US breakthrough with Rome, which is being screened on satellite channel TCM later this month. www.dailyrecord.co.uk/showbiz/television-news/2011/04/01/scots-actor-kevin-mckidd-set-for-chart-success-after-cover-of-snow-patrol-hit-on-us-tv-show-grey-s-anatomy-86908-23030595/

That is bad cover art, though my major criticism is too many faces, they really need to lower the cast quota, there are some people on that who are so expired its actually going to ruin their chances of getting any other acting job once greys is over

Can't wait for dvd I hope the "extra" stuff is not all about the musical. Oh and the bloopers. they better be better then last year. i was dissapointed. My favorite thing. 2 min was not long enough..at least 4 like they have been in the past..but with the musical stuff i bet not. Looking forward to deleted scenes..which sometimes makes me wonder why they kept some scenes and not the ones they cut. haha.

insidetv.ew.com/2011/09/08/greys-anatomy-season-7-dvd-musical-episode/Remember that controversial musical episode of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy that aired last spring? Honestly, how could you forget about it? Well, that memorable hour is the focus of some of the extras on the upcoming DVD release of the show’s recent seventh season. EW has an exclusive first look at the extra in which creator Shonda Rhimes and exec producer Betsy Beers reveal star Sara Ramirez, who won a Tony for her singing chops in the Broadway musical Spamalot, helped them fully crystallize the idea for the episode. Says Rhimes of Ramirez: “She said, ‘Why don’t we sing the songs that Grey’s has made famous?’” Adds Ramirez, who plays Dr. Callie Torres, on her contribution: “It was really exciting, the prospect of kind of taking the songs that the fans love, taking the songs that the fans so deeply connect with Grey’s Anatomy and the characters and the scenes in which they were used, and then being interpreted by characters. I just thought that would be really, really neat.” Stars Kevin McKidd (Dr. Owen Hunt) and Chyler Leigh (Dr. Lexie Grey) — who also sang during the episode — chime in with their thoughts, too. In anticipation of the Sept. 13 release of Grey’s Anatomy: Season 7 on DVD, watch the exclusive, behind-the-scenes video from the extras here first: click link to watch video of Musical extra for DVD
