Trainspotter finds fun with Father Ted.
CHRISTMAS Eve lingerie laughs were a bit of light relief for a Moray actor, whose rising career has involved suffering a variety of horrible on-screen deaths for his art.
Despite being blown to pieces in his last role as a hardman in "Small Faces", and dying of AIDS in the cult movie "Trainspotting", Elgin's Kevin McKidd was very much alive on Christmas Eve, playinga priest lost in a store's lingerie department, during a Christmas special episode of the "Father Ted" comedy series, on Channel Four.
"It was brilliant working with the 'Father Ted' cast," said Kevin (23).
"They are great comics and very easy-going - no pressure at all, just a lot of laughs and a lot of Guinness.
"I don't get a chance to do much in the way of comedy, and I really enjoyed myself."
The former Moray Youth Theatre player is hoping that the New Year will bring continued acting success.
Kevin now lives in Glasgow, but enjoys getting back to the family home, in Hermes Road, Elgin, as often as his work schedule allows.

Kevin refering to his experience on Father Ted in another interview:
Ever been drunk on the job?
KM: No, but when I did Father Ted, we drank so much Guinness my experience is clouded. I was told they never cast anyone who wasn’t Irish, but I was the exception because the people that made it really liked Trainspotting. It was brilliant, I went to Ireland and shot there for two weeks but I don’t have many memories. I was the only non-comedian in the group so they tested out their material on me – I laughed my head off all the time.
