This ep.ended up being a snoozefest compared to last week. of u didnt see last weeks episode u wouldnt even know OC were back together. not that i was expecting much focus on them but not even a quick little scene? anyway the scenes with Arizona and Owen were pretty good, i was glad Bailey called out Derek in the meeting about the hospital. They must just be in denial that they are the reason the hospital is broke. Either way it was a filler episode. Cahill seems ok so far, there seems to be a interestig past with her and Webber. Hope next weeks episode is better.

I agree -- this was sort of a dull episode -- for me, it really hammered home how poor of an actress EP is, or at least how little she engages my interest. Whenever the episode shifting to her hormonal issues, I just kept finding little housecleaning chores to do. I'd rather scoop the catbox than watch her scrunch her face up and try to squirt out tears.
But I loved Owen getting some storyline time in with Arizona -- I am so glad the writers didn't overlook this opportunity to show him as interacting with the other cast members in a positive way (and one which had NOTHING to do with the damned lawsuit!).
And I'll also agree that Bailey's calling out Derek in the meeting was wonderful! I do hope we some some more conflict about that in the episodes to come!

I liked this episode. Apparently I'm the only one Agreed, Mer's hormones were tedious. I would have preferred if they had chalked her behavior up to the extreme anxiety of facing a plane trip to harvest a liver. It was strange, some of the writing and execution was so tone deaf, like Cristina's awful awful conference room interruption, and yet then there was Arizona's leg. That was very interesting to me and I really liked that they had Owen be the one to help her. I'm so sick of his chiefy issues, I love when he is just doctoring and being a friend dammit. He is not just Cristina's appendage. Excuse the vehemence, and that is not directed at anyone in particular, certainly not here, I just feel really strongly that Owen should be interacting with EVERYONE. And he should be shown in the OR. Webber and Derek were in the OR all the time when they were Chief. All we see is Owen standing around looking concerned. Put some scrubs on please ASAP. OK rant over At least finally we are heading for the finish line with this interminable lawsuit story. Then we can get back to more interesting CO interactions, and the real work that needs to get done with these two. And YAY Bailey!

I'm with browncoatwhit and marryme on this one - - I found the episode pretty boring as well. I did like seeing Owen functioning as a doctor and a friend to Arizona. I don't mind that the Cahill character is a little bitchy - it seems appropriate to the role she is being asked to play. I really liked Bailey calling Derek out during the big conference room scene.
Derek behaved like an entitled ass during the entire episode, IMO. The conversation with Mer at the end was ridiculous. How can they be so clueless about the impact the judgement is having on the hospital? The trite silliness of the plot about Mer's pregnancy hormones was deeply annoying. How can Shonda claim to be a feminist when she insists on portraying pregnant women as sex-crazed, hysterical lunatics? What is the point of that (beyond cheap laughs - of which BTW there didn't seem to be any anyway)? Cristina is back in surgery-hungry animal mode again, which really seems like regression. I guess we're supposed to wonder about Cahill's history with Webber, but I don't think I'm that interested.
Jackson and intern Stephanie were clearly about to have sex (before she went back to work) in the same on-call room that Owen and Cristina used last week. I hope Cahill doesn't cut the hospital laundry budget - - those sheets really need to be changed regularly!
The episode felt like filler, and like a way to continue to drag out the increasingly non-credible and boring plane crash/lawsuit story line. If Grey's were like this all the time, I'm not sure that even Kevin and Sandra could get me to stay!

This a 3454534 hundred times. It's one of those TV cliches that never, never go away.
I didn't like the episode that much, but I didn't hate it. Derek annoyed the hell out of me, and while I can't stand Meredith most of the time, I wanted to slap Cristina for making that comment about loving kids, the sicks ones, to her. That's not the joke you make to a friend who indeed adopted a sick African baby, who is pregnant and who is a serious candidate - as well as her unborn child - to early Alzheimer's. Don't even get me started on the stupid speech to Cahill.

Don't even get me started on the stupid speech to Cahill. That's something you don't say at all, not only the friend who adopted a sick African baby. And the "little train wrecks" highly highly offensive. I get the sarcasm, but up to a point. There are some things that you don't joke about. Who the hell writes these scripts?? Every time Cristina's character is a filler in a episode, they give her some crappy lines, that are not even consistent to the character that I watched. Just to be the laugh of the episode or what? Every single time the same thing, they revert her into that surgery hungry animal. I'm gonna pretend there wasn't Cristina this episode, but her evil twin. Fully agree about Mer and that cliche presentation of pregnant women. I'm not laughing at that at all.

Just finished going over the recorded episode (honestly I can't say I've watched it fully).
I liked Owen scenes with Arizona. I always wondered why they never become friends.
I agree with the previous comments about Mer and the hormonal pregnant woman. It has been done in every single TV show and really to pull it off in a new way it requires an actress that can pull comedy off . Ellen is not one of them.
Derek has been the king of douches (excuse my french;) in the episode but really none of them was showing a little bit of interest, respect or understanding about what Owen is trying to do. Really I am getting tired of him being the punching bag of the show.
Trying to get around the way they are behaving I thought that may be they are sure that the insurance company is paying and not seeing it coming from the hospital budget. What if Owen never let them know about the whole impact ? that is the only explanation I can get to it. But smart people should at least figure it out that there are issues and that are the least entitled to complain about. So with that : Bravo Bailey!!!!
I have no opinion yet about Dr Cahill. I am not so thrilled about a background story with Webber. I would prefer to have her being at the hospital to do her job and go away. It seems that every single person with a medical background has gone to SG at some point in their lives. Tired of it!
I hope next episode gets better. I think episodes like this one does nothing for the ratings ...
oh, and hopew , this quote "Jackson and intern Stephanie were clearly about to have sex (before she went back to work) in the same on-call room that Owen and Cristina used last week. I hope Cahill doesn't cut the hospital laundry budget - - those sheets really need to be changed regularly!" is brilliant! So many times I have thought how many times are those sheets changed considering the amount of activity in those on call rooms!!! LOL

I find it strange there was no CO scene, not even a few second scene, like Owen´s reaction to Cristina´s horrifying speech. Now that would have been something. This reaction would have spoken so much about the current state of their relationship, well if they have one or what it is that they have. I think it was intentional so that we don´t know and can only guess if he was shocked, puzzled, if he frowned at her comment, or kept a neutral expression. I think he can´t have liked what she said.
Cristina hasn´t changed at all, the writers have reminded it again, this is the true herself, the one that has no respect, no sympathy, otherwise she wouldn´ let those horrendous words from her mouth, be it in the final office scene or with Meredith. I can´t say which was worse.
Owen and Arizona were lovely to watch. Very few scenes they have together, maybe the first after 902. It was nice seeing Owen both as a doctor and a friend, not just Cristina´s sex friend. It is refreshing the writers remembered that those two share similar military background. I liked how concerned he was for her, and how in the end he pushed Karev with so much resolution. What I liked is that Cristina had no clue Owen was helping Arizona, neither Karev. It was just between them.
Bailey, thanks for having you! The way she opened their blind eyes, especially Derek´s, and that shock of Meredith´s and Cristina´s faces. Priceless.
I originally thought Cahill would be stronger with Derek, but the minute she stepped into the OR, she got weaker, but I think she has a very interesting story to be told. Owen said she is a trained surgeon, there is a reason she doesn´t operate anymore, why she gave up her surgical career, so this aspect and also that she used to be Webber´s student, I´m quite interested in seeing where it goes as well as her decision to close the ER which really surprised me. She and Owen were quite friendly with each other, but her decision will certainly affect that.
