Has anyone else out there watched this thing yet?
I'm marathoning episodes 11 & 12 on Hulu while getting the few slew of Christmas baking done, and I'm at the 18:45 or so point in ep 12... and I'm horrighasted! Flipping whippets -- but did Meredith Grey just [very *friendly* person]-shame Cristina for sleeping with Shane?
I just wanna cry... there's something just so very, very wrong with the universe when Meredith Grey is [very *friendly* person]-shaming Cristina just to win an argument...

Yes. I typed the word s-l-u-t, and the message board auto-translates that to "very friendly person"
The irony! Gotta love it...
Plus... did Owen have to fly out to Indiana to the Kepner family farm in order to hire her back? But now, suddenly, the family farm is within driving distance of Seattle that everyone on staff can get there effortlessly after clocking out from work for the afternoon? (and what mountain range is that behind the bride, anyway?)
Still, it's lovely that Owen gets a couple of good moments here. His pep talk to April was lovely, and the look he exchanges with Cristina during the wedding... broke my heart all over again. I wonder if Kevin and Sandra played that the way Shondra meant it played?

According to one of the editors on twitter, the close ups at that point were " tightly scripted" so I take that to mean we were meant to see something meaningful there

Huh. Well -- I'm going back and forth about what that silent exchange was supposed to mean! I wanted a meaningful moment for both of them, but in retrospect, I'm not sure I've sussed out either of their reactions. Can I ask what you other viewers took from those few seconds? Here's a youtube link: right at the approx. 40 second mark. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQtK46mz49QThe ceremony lines are something like a wedding commitment being "a promise we simply refuse to break".

ATM all I take from it is that their story is not done yet and we will get something more in the back half. I refuse to allow myself to speculate or get hopes up. I will just take it as it comes

Here's a youtube link: right at the approx. 40 second mark. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQtK46mz49QThe ceremony lines are something like a wedding commitment being "a promise we simply refuse to break". I´d say it´s totally meaningless, after having strange Emma and that dreadful Ross in picture,it means literally nothing. My interpretation - there was a lot of love on Owen´s face sort of, but Cristina just remembered maybe what was between them, then she turned away and was content again - being alone, thinking of nothing but surgery, having Meredith back in her life because that´s what counts, and going in for more meaningless sexual endevaours with Ross or someone else who will satisfy her sexual needs so that she can excel at her work. JMHO The corresponding line in my opinion is that according to writers both characters in fact broke their promise of marriage which IMO was only done by Cristina, she is the one who walked away from Owen constantly even before they were married. Being married means literally nothing to Cristina, be it Burke, Owen or whoever, she is married to her work. Those lines can´t have any impact on her character the way she is portrayed on the show.
