I don't think a "Rome" movie could make it without the great terrible two: Pullo and Vorenus! What do you think? Anyone else heard updates about the movie version?

I guess if there's a movie of Rome, Vorenus and Pullo must be there. But nevertheless what kind of movie is it and what plots has it? I really appreciate Rome, but this show is too short.

I feel his hair didn't change much between Journeyman and Rome. His eyes and frontal look more serious in Rome... Besides his horse is more handsome than Pullo's..haha...

As much as I'd love a Rome movie, what on earth would the historical context be? All the good stories have been used up ... death of Caesar, civil war between Octavian and Marc Antony, Cleopatra, etc. .... I suppose they could look at some aspect of Octavian's reign, or MAYBE even Tiberius ... but then Pullo and Vorenus would be far too old. I fear that a Rome movie would be based more on the personal lives of the characters rather than the historical context, and I must confess that what MADE Rome so exciting was how Vorenus and Pullo were tied in and out of the larger historical events. Now that Augustus has begun the Empire, I don't know what they would focus on.

Not sure a Rome movie would be a good idea... I think they did a full circle with the TV show, and I'm glad the writers were clever enough to have a clear beginning and clear end, to avoid any future sequels LOL!

Well, the rumors about a movie are still around ... Check out this: www.movieweb.com/news/02/26902.phpI think that Bruno Weller already had the possibility of a movie on his mind when he made Vorenus´s death quite "undetermined". Same thing about Cesarion´s fate (we all know the real life Cesarion´s fate, but this is the fictional one, that could go anywhere except from being Ceasar´s heir) and his relationship with Pullo. He kinda left the door opened.

And here I am, thinking that you´ve been offline all this time because you´re busy watching Rome and falling in love with Lucius Vorennus ... But hey, can´t you just rent the DVDs at your local Blockbuster? The version released for hiring is the very same one for purchasing, including the same extras, and it´s usually easy to find in any regular DVD store. I myself never bought the DVD set - it´s very expensive here in Brazil, though now I kinda regret it because I´ve rented them so many times (and you have to pay for each DVD, in a total of 10) that by now I´ve probably spent the same amount of money I´d have if I just bought them.

I'll have to check my local video store......good idea! I did mention I was blonde right? Sometimes the lights are on but no one's home *cackles* I am sure they might have it. I was missing in action as I was house-sitting and had no computer access I did catch up on some Gerard Butler films though........love that Scotsman too!!!! Why don't they make men like KMK and GB in the islands? ?

Well, considering that Great Britain (Scotland included) is an island, they kinda make it ... Just not in the right island, I guess ...

update re Rome Movie www.futuremovies.co.uk/filmmaking.asp?ID=251Can you confirm that there’s going to be a movie version of Rome? And given that Lucius Vorenus dies in the second series, how will they replace his relationship with Pullo? Are undead legionaries the way ahead? Alas, there is no confirmation but people are trying to make it happen. A lot of people share the opinion that the abrupt cancelling of Rome was a huge error of judgement because it was about to explode. I would leap at the chance to play Pullo again and as Kevin McKidd [Lucius Vorenus] pointed out to me ‘I never closed my eyes!’

Did Kev really say that " I never closed my eyes" ? Wow, that's amazing! It means they both would be up for doing a movie and I would be a really happy lady. I still feel that the role of Vorenus is the best thing Kevin has ever done.

I still feel that the role of Vorenus is the best thing Kevin has ever done. Well, I don´t know if he said exactly that, but there´s an interview in which he talks about how Bruno Weller (the writer/producer) was thinking on the possibility of a movie, and when Kevin asked "But would Vorenus be in the film? He´s supposed to be dead!", Weller answered: "Who said Vorenus is dead?" And we´ve actually never seen him dying in the last episode. Those guys have almost passed to the other side a few times during the series, so the idea of another miraculous recovery is not that far-fetched ...
