I was talking to another member recently about recasting a favorite movie and putting Kevin in the male lead.
What movies would you like to put him in and why??? Leanne we may have to move this thread 'elsewhere'.
I'll start:
"91/2 Weeks" cuz I want see him feed Jell-O to someone etc.

"Gangs of New York" as Bill the Butcher-Just to see how he'd interpret such a complex character
"In the Mood for Love' as Mr. Chow-- ok this would be if they EVER decide to make an american version of this film, which they should not, but who knows what the future holds.
"The Prestige" as Borden because I'd love to see two fo my favorite actors on screen together, kevin and Hugh Jackman
"Harry Potter" as Lupin--dont know why I just do
Other than that I think Kevin would make a kick arse vampire in any movie.. or anything to do with 18th British history or Roman History

"Love in a Fallen City" - Mr. Fan
Okay! Chow Yun-fat just did a sucky job in this role. Basically, the whole movie's just wrong. This should be set in Britain, and Kevin should restore his Scottish accent.
"Lust, Caution" - Mr. Yi
Sorry that I keep mention Chinese movies, but these roles just fit for Kevin if they make Western versions (which this one, they shouldn't)! If you want a complex character, this one is THE role! Oh, and ladies, imagine Kevin in hard core sex... 3 times???

tha'ts funny you say that because when I watched the Oscars and Hugh was talking to Frank Langella and Anne Hathaway in the audience, I saw Daniel Craig and had to do a double take because at first if you look quickly and look away he sort of looked like Kevin at the moment. LOL

I'd like him as Simon Templar (a very sexy part)in The Saint (he was Val Kilmer, in 1997) and Gretchen Egolf, instead of Elisabeth Shue, as Dr. Emma Russell. He'd like to change often his accent and to play an action man with psycological childhood problems.

And The Saint with Val Kilmer was a remake from the TV series with Roger Moore.

I'd like to see Kevin do something off the wall, like play Jack Lemon's character in "Some Like it Hot", or in a remake of Casablanca told by Sam's point of view, playing Rick Blaine.

I would love for Kevin to do a remake of "Same time, next year" movie.
Adapt the movie to current years (as original is set from 51 to 77) . Only two characters (adaptation from a theatre play) , and it is a romantic, funny and dramatic play!
he will be great on it !!! (should I say that is my favorite movie of all times!!)
if we are talking about a blockbuster type of movie, I think I would go with Out of Africa (although the original is SOOOO good , that I am not sure about remaking it).

good question Marcy.... for either movie I will say Kate Winslet , but I think I would prefer her for Out of Africa. She has similar acting tones than Meryl Streep. And I think it would be an interesting on screen couple with Kevin. I am still thinking about Same time, next year . I will get to one and let you know!! Also I was thinking that Kevin will be great in any ensamble movie that have Robert Downey Jr working on it. I would love those two working together!
