As if this year’s Izzie-might-die-from-cancer story line weren’t insipid enough! The doctor (Katherine Heigl) — who’s awaiting surgery for her stage IV melanoma — gets a visit from her mother (Sharon Lawrence), a kooky chatterbox with sex on the brain. Yet Izzie hides her condition from Mom, just one more preposterous development made worse by Heigl and Lawrence’s lousy chemistry. As for the other docs, think more sappy relationship yo-yoing sprinkled in with a few genuine heart-tugs: Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) snubs her now-sober dad even as she preps to marry Derek (Patrick Dempsey), while tortured soulmates Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Owen (Kevin McKidd) have a breakthrough. The medical cases? Aside from Izzie’s drama, they’re now incidental bores — even one that involves domestic abuse. So, is Izzie a goner? Will Meredith and Derek actually wed? The bigger question is whether Grey’s can still redeem itself by season’s end — and beyond. (ABC, 9 P.M.) www.usmagazine.com/mustsview/television?page=2

I'm hoping the pregnancy (if its Cris) is a false alarm, probably our cliff hanger but when we get back in season 6 she finds out that she is not pregnant. but it does the trick and gets them back together

I think Burke, babies, abortion, everything will be all revealed in the following episodes. JUICY!!!!!! ;D What abortion? I think it refers to Cristina's ectopic pregnancy/miscarriage that happened before she had a chance to terminate it in season 2.

Little bit more info on next weeks episode ....no O/C new
Meredith is jeopardizing her career as a doctor when she takes side on a crime suspect. In the next “Grey’s Anatomy“, a little girl is accused of shooting her father 17 times and Meredith stands up for her. The controversial medical case causes her and the Chief bitterly fighting against each other with the possibility of Meredith being suspended.
As preparations continue for Meredith and Derek’s wedding, Izzie receives a surprise hospital visit from her handful-of-a-mother, Robbie. Meanwhile, a newly sober Thatcher visits his daughters, Meredith and Lexie, in order to make amends. “No Good at Saying Sorry” airs April 30.

Hmmm well if Mer is suspended it'd be pretty easy for them to work it into next season in time for EP's maternity leave. But sounds like she gets a solo surgery for the 100th ep so I guess not

Grey's Anatomy: Why the Low Numbers Still? Monday, April 27, 2009 Perhaps most Grey's Anatomy fans - those who opted to stay and those who up and left - would agree that this season of the hit medical dramedy took a while to heat up. The first part of the season sucked, for the most part, then it got better, and eventually got its groove back. Off the top of my head, it was the Dead!Denny! (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) storyline that did it for most Grey's fans. Maybe Izzie's (Katherine Heigl) ex-fiancé lingered at Seattle Grace far too long. And now that Izzie's cancer is out in the open and the visions o' Denny finally make (a little) sense, the damage is unfortunately irreparable and today, Grey's is still suffering the backlash of too many people tuning out.
The last episode of Grey's Anatomy reeled in 13.2 million viewers, which, while it placed second in its timeslot, is considerably less than there were at this time last year. One year ago, the episode was "Where the Wild Things Are," and while this installment had little consequence to the overall arc of the series, interestingly, it was on this episode when the new residents started their surgical contest, Derek (Patrick Dempsey) was dating Rose, and Callie (Sara Ramirez) started her "friendship" with Hahn (Brooke Smith). Makes you kind of wistful, doesn't it?
Don't Miss •Grey's Anatomy: She's Pregnant?! •''Grey''s Anatomy'' Fires Brooke Smith •Exclusive Interview: Kevin McKidd of 'Grey's Anatomy •Grey's Anatomy: What's Up with the Mystery Guest Role? •Grey's Anatomy: The Same Old Things More on...Grey's Anatomy >> Grey's last episode - which showcased, among others, a heartbreaking scene courtesy of Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and doe-eyed Jessica and funny Spanish dialogues from Calliope - saw a 20 percent drop since its last new episode from almost a month back. And it was even a good episode!
What does this mean? Most television critics are in unison that Grey's Anatomy has regained the groove it lost since Denny made his protracted apparitions. Izzie's cancer, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek getting married, the tension between Cristina (Sandra Oh) and Owen (Kevin McKidd), Callie's bout with her daddy, and George's (TR Knight) ongoing tiff with Karev (Justin Chambers) have been entirely watchable and entertaining.
Why this excitement hasn't translated into bigger numbers is anybody's guess. However, it's interesting to note that at least as far as last season is concerned, Grey's Anatomy follows this trend - the ratings will peak for the premiere, then go down consistently up until the finale, when it experiences an abrupt jump.
From the looks of the storylines, things are going well on Grey's today. Judging from the ratings, however, few former fans or new viewers seem to take notice. Therefore, I don't expect the improved quality of Grey's to reflect on the ratings. I just hope the finale - one of the most anticipated episodes this season - will live up to the now huge expectations.

So here's a thought, I am guessing Wyatt tells Owen he can't say 'I love you' to Cristina because he hasn't fully realized/owned the feellings he has for her.

So here's a thought, I am guessing Wyatt tells Owen he can't say 'I love you' to Cristina because he hasn't fully realized/owned the feellings he has for her. Is Amy Madigan listed as a guest star this week? If not, I'm wondering how we find out about this list of 3-word sentences.

That's what I'm wondering sometimes they don't always list the guest stars, but who knows.

Oooh, who gets the freeze out from Meredith?
Could be the Chief because they're on the outs, could be her dad because she just doesn't want to know from him, could possibly be Owen because she's mad at him about Cristina.
Who?

Since the episode is called No Good at Saying Sorry, I wonder if Cristina sort of apologizes to Owen thinking he's being short with her because he's mad at her, but then he does the declaration thing after she shoves him..?
