Shonda's said more than once that she writes about cheaters when talking about GA and PrP so I think just because they might be getting hitched, doesn't mean one of them won't cheat whether it is Owen or Cristina who knows. I mean Derek was married to Addison and still slept with Mer. Even though Mer/Der are "married" he still cheated, I was never ok that he cheated on Addison even though she did it first. So I think just because someone gets married on the show, doesn't mean the possibility isn't there. I'm all for an OC wedding I just hope Shonda looks outside the box on this one or they will end up in the grave yard of buried hopes.

IDK I think another triangle with at least the same person, speak Teddy, seems unlikely to me. Someone once said "Shonda makes mistakes but she's not stupid.", well - I second that. She has to know how much the fan reactions (partially mean fan reactions) were a result of this traingle cr*p and she did loose a part of the CO fanbase because of it. Now she knows and I don't think she makes the same mistake twice.
She has a routine for couples, I think. It was like that with Mer/Der and Alex/Izzie - one season happy couple, one season broken up, and then all over again. CO didn't have a "good" season 5 because of the PTSD and the choking, but they both were positive about their future, I think. In season 6, it was hard to watch sometimes, so hopefully, Season 7 will include a little more happiness for them. According to the spoilers, MerDer seem to be the couple with the problems (in the beginning) - all the talk about Der going to jail, the miscarriage in the SF etc.

I don't know who it was, but someone combined the hints from Ausiello and Kristen and said the only two couples would be Cristina/Owen and House/Cuddy, but since Huddy's already out of the running - well, I'm not sure though.

According to the spoilers, MerDer seem to be the couple with the problems (in the beginning) - all the talk about Der going to jail, the miscarriage in the SF etc. I agree with you. I do think the Teddy triangle is over. And although Shonda has shown some of her characters as cheaters, she's never shown Cristina that way and she's now seen the backlash if she even implies that Owen might be a cheater. She got defensive in some of her tweets back to people complaining that Owen was cheating on Cristina; she got defensive in some of her interviews about the assumption that some viewers were making that Owen would eventually cheat with Teddy, or that Teddy was a device to break up Owen and Cristina. I know there is one school of thought that says that Owen was cheating "emotionally" on Cristina, but I never believed that. Emotional cheating is when you use someone other than your partner to meet emotional needs that your partner isn't meeting or isn't being given the chance to meet. Owen spent most of Season 6 trying to avoid having anything but the most limited interactions with Teddy; he was hardly seeking her out for emotional support or connection. And I think that is what Shonda intended - - she didn't see him as "cheating" and got annoyed when other people said that's what he was doing. I don't think she'll turn him into a cheater now. In Shondaland, romantic pairings have to face challenges because that's what Shonda does to create angst for Shonda angst equals drama. So whether they are married to each other or not, Cristina and Owen will face challenges. I'd just as soon see them facing those challenges married to each other. With that said, if they don't get married but are "taking to the next level" in another way, that's fine with me too. But I'm just not prepared to see them getting married to each other as a bad thing, if that is in fact what is happening.

It saddens me a bit that we were all so shell shocked by S.6 that we are thrown into so much doubt over what could be a very lovely storyline for Kevin and Sandra to play out.
Whether or not they're part of any of the who's getting married spoilers, I am holding onto the one thing we've heard from Kevin himself about Owen and Cristina taking their relationship to the next level. And to me, that's what S.6 was all about getting them ready to do by peeling away the layers of self-doubt created by facing their respective Befores.
Also, I so look forward to Sandra having the emotional fallout of the shooting for Cristina to explore on screen. We not only saw Cristina graduate professionally in the SF but also emotionally. I can see old Cristina trying to brush aside her emotional response yet it seems S.7 Cristina may have no choice now but to keep displaying her emotional responses and see what comes of it.

Well if this happens it will likely be what happened in S5 where they skip all the normal couple steps, I just want to see more of the healing process, its fine to take things to the next level, but if you are using it as an emotional band aid its not going to work in the long run until you deal with the core issues.

LOS ANGELES — Call him Dr. McSwoon or Dr. McHeartthrob — but just keep calling him. Good news for not-seen-enough McCanadian hunk James Tupper and his fans: It seems Tupper may be poised to become the newest hunk on the hit show Grey’s Anatomy, according to an ABC source. Originally asked to guest star just one time as a trauma counsellor in the first episode of the upcoming season, Tupper heated up the camera so much that he was asked to stay on for the second episode … And the third. “The camera is just eating him up and producers are very aware of his hunk factor,” the source said. “We’re hoping this might be just the beginning for James on Grey.” Tupper — who first made TV-watching gals swoon as a scientist in Men in Trees, then as a doctor in the now-cancelled Mercy — was originally only cast to play trauma counsellor Dr. Andrew Perkins for the first episode of Grey’s Season 7. His character is sent in to soothe traumatized Seattle Grace Hospital staff after a psychotic sniper shot at half of them in the last season’s heart-pounding finale. But once the rushes of the first episode came back, producers zeroed in on the “je ne sais quoi” sexy, intelligent, calm demeanour the Dartmouth, N.S., exudes and asked the writing staff to bring him back. The initial episodes are being shown to focus groups and ABC executives. Whether viewers tune in or out will be considered the final factor once the first episode of the season airs Sept. 23. “If James is as popular with the Grey audience as he is with producers, I think a regular slot could easily happen. Even if he’s not in all of the early episodes, it should be fairly easy to write him back in,” the source said. The fact Tupper can go head to head with such darlings as Patrick Dempsey’s Dr. “McDreamy” Derek Shepherd and Eric Dane’s Dr. “McSteamy” Mark Sloane is no surprise to female fans who have been swooning over Tupper’s characters in Men in Trees and Mercy. While there are many hot hunks in Grey’s stable, Dempsey’s character has become a lot less dreamy now that he’s turned into a rather ornery, put-upon hospital chief. Not to mention all the romantic drama and flirting that kept viewers tuned in is over since he was put in a stable marriage with Ellen Pompeo’s Meredith Grey. As for Dane, who splits his acting time between Grey’s and its spinoff Private Practice, his personal reputation may have taken a bit of a hit this year with the surprise publication of a homemade sex tape. Dr. Andrew Perkins may just be what the female staff at Seattle Grace ordered. And what lucky gal would get him? Might it be the series’ second leading lady and fellow Canadian Sandra Oh? Let’s not forget, her relationship with trauma doc Kevin Kidd (who plays Owen Hunt) has been a little dodgy since his old girlfriend came back to town. Although I’m not privy to anything in the script, I have been told that Tupper — married to actress Anne Heche, whom he met while filming Men in Trees in Vancouver — and Oh do hang out during breaks. “They’re comfortable together, they do pal around.Maybe it’s the Canadian thing,” joked the source. “Rehearsing lines that have ‘about’ and trying to sound American?” www.torontosun.com/entertainment/tv/2010/08/12/15009306.htmlHow can they justify adding ANOTHER person to an already crowded cast? If they were smart they'd wiat and see how he works out. You think they would have learned from last season. Oy.

I just can't see how James Tupper is going to fit into the cast on an ongoing basis, when he is a trauma counsellor and this show is about surgeons.
Also, the stuff about Tupper's character potentially being a romantic interest for Cristina sounds bogus and completely made up to me, like they had no news to report so they just started wildly speculating based on the fact that the two are Canadian.

It'd make sense if the trauma counselor does his thing for assessments and then forwards them to Dr. Wyatt, who I'd rather see more of. I hope they don't make the same mistake as last season. It seems the GA casting peeps have eyes bigger than their stomach when it comes to characters, only they don't follow through with the development they need to accomplish.

I can understand him sticking around for a few episodes so they can explore the trauma storyline for our doctors but beyond that, does he really have a place at SGH?? I'm sure he does, on another floor tucked away where we rarely see him, but why would he have cause to be regularly mixing with the surgeons after the therapy sessions? I just can't see how they could logically integrate him into the cast.

I just can't see how they could logically integrate him into the cast. Considering Mandy Moore's character is returning in 7.6 to, presumably, get the surgery she didn't get in the SF maybe that's when we'll see more of Bailey's reaction to the SF storyline? There was talk about how she'll show people a very limited reaction and yet I bet she won't be able to stay tough and gruff when the patient returns who helped her endure Percy's death. So, I wonder if this sort of possibility for revisitation to the effects on staff of last season's SF plus making out with Teddy, there may be more for him to do than we'd think. And maybe, in that regard, he'll be like Bailey's guy, Ben. Around occasionally, but at other times simply referred to.

Seems they need a fact checker in more than one way.

I think they should wait and see how fans like him before committing him to anymore episodes. They should have learned enough from last season's foibles. While I don't think Eric Dane is the best actor, I agree this article seems too gossipy, I think the tone of this article is suggesting they are trying to push Dane out to make room for Tupper which I think would alienate even more fan bases if it were true.

The thing about them waiting to see how fans react to him before deciding whether to keep a new character that annoys me is that Shonda spends so much time saying that she basically has the season mapped out. So either way, she's lying - if they truly to wait to see how fans react, then they can't possibly have the season mapped out. And if they do know at the start how the season will basically go, then the part about them waiting to see if viewers take to a character is BS. They already know whether they want to integrate that character or not. Either way I feel deceived!

by Matt Webb Mitovich Kim Raver took a break from dwelling on matters of love, as ‘Grey’s Anatomy’s Dr. Teddy Altman, to explore sobering questions about death in the Lifetime original movie ‘Bond Of Silence‘ (premiering Monday at 9/8c). Inspired by the true story of Katy Hutchison, ‘Bond Of Silence’ stars Raver as a woman whose husband is mysteriously killed when he tries to quiet a teenager’s out-of-control New Year’s Eve party. As Raver’s character chips away at a “wall of silence” and unravels the truth behind the tragedy, she surprisingly decides to not crucify the guilty party but instead enlist him in a crusade to educate people on the danger of letting youths party hard sans supervision. Reflecting on Hutchison’s mission of restorative justice, Raver says, “I don’t know many people who are able to go through something like that and forgive, and then go on this whole second journey.” So powerful was Hutchison’s ability to turn the other cheek, “It’s gotten me to think about forgiveness in a different way, and I’m grateful for that,” says Raver. “In the purest form, she was able to overcome her tragedy for the greater good, and I respect that.” Exactly a month from ‘Bond Of Silence’s premiere, Raver can be seen again scrubbing in as ‘Grey’s Anatomy’s Teddy, who – hear the chorus of angels sing – is done dogging fellow war vet Owen (played by Kevin McKidd) and instead en route to a new romance, with a grief counselor being played by James Tupper (’Men In Trees’). After all, as Raver notes of Tupper’s casting on ‘Grey’s,’ “If they’re handsome and hot, there’s going to be some action happening!”
While Raver appreciates how Teddy’s interference in the Owen/Cristina romance helped introduce her character with a bang, she recognizes that interlopers seldom win viewers over. “I’m glad that we’re not going to be playing the love triangle for two seasons,” she says. “For the fans, for us [the actors]… for everyone.”www.fancast.com/blogs/2010/tv-news/kim-raver-reveals-her-new-perspective-teases-hot-greys-hook-up/Interesting now she doesn't seem to be so coy when talking about the triangle being over, if there is no mention of the word triangle with these three again I'll be happy

If it is C/O getting married (and I still don't want to get my hopes up TOO much), it surprises me that they're allowed to spoil it this far out from the season premiere.

Eeyore here.
If they break them up (assuming that CO is not the couple getting married) Owen is screwed as the Hunt hate will rise to new levels of loathing.
If they marry them (can we CATCH a break, universe) because of Shonda and the writers (ack, ptooey) they will write him so sucky and knuckle dragging that the Hunt hate will surge to even greater heights of ferocity. Bend over futher, my Owen.
Here, where's my cloud of doom? (bats at optimists) Go 'way. (drags self off to computer to search ancient Roman mourning customs and attire)
